Love it or leave it? I asked my husband how he liked River earlier and he said he likes Rio better (he is Portuguese and rio is River in Portuguese). DS is Max. Our last name is very Portuguese.

ETA other current boy name contenders are Alexander, Sebastian and Nico!

River is a GP name for me, I love it. Not a fan of Rio. I LOVE Nico! and Alexander, but I feel like Alexander is very popular right now.

When I hear Rio I would assume you were talking about Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. I'm not a huge fan of River, but I like it a lot more than Rio.

Not a fan of Rio. All the other names are nice.

I knew a horse named Rio. It's an okay name but I much prefer Alexander, Sebastian and Nico!

Rio is okay and kind of pairs with Max nicely, but I like Nico, Alexander, and Sebastian all better... Actually love all three of those names.

When I saw Rio my first thought was that you were trying to spell Rico and forgot a letter. I would leave it.

I am not a fan, mostly for the many connotations it brings to mind from songs and places. It reminds me of the casino in Vegas name the Rio.

I do like Mateo, but I think it's too similar to Max! Especially if he ended up going by Matt lol.

Seriously though, it's a fish or parakeet's name or something. I think Nico is a much better and not too common.

Rio won't get love from me. I think River is a nice name, but I like your other options way better. I think Max and Nico make a super adorable sibset!
