TTC after 35

ovulation tests

I have been using ovulation kits for the past 2 months and it says to start testing urine on the 11th day from start of period. Both times I got the positive double lines on the 7th day(last day of testing) which would be 18 days after my period. Sorry for the math facts but was wondering if that is common to ovulate at the end? I guess the good news is that I am ovulating but was wondering if that could also mean my body is a little out of whack for it happening closer to my next period.

Re: ovulation tests

  • The sticks assume a 28 day cycle if your cycle is longer than you would be OK...my sister O on day 18-19 of 32 day cycle. Good luck:-)

  • The question to answer to finish your math problem is the length of your cycle.

With a 28 day cycle, O on CD18 gives you a 10 day luteal phase (time from O to AF). A 14 day luteal cycle is normal, which would be a 32 day cycle.

As I understand it, you need a luteal phase of at least 10 days to support pregnancy.

has said.... as long as you have atleast a 10day LP it shouldn't be an issue at all.

  • I highly suggest checking out www.fertilityfriend.com or reading "taking charge of your fertility". Observing your cervical fluid can be very helpful in determining when you are gearing up to ovulate.

  • You ladies are great! I really appreciate the info and for also not making me feel clueless. I always thought I knew so much about the female body(esp. having Endometriosis and all) but apparently I am learning so much more. Can I ask what AF means. I know there used to be a glossary for abbrev. but I couldn't find it lately.

Thank you I will check it out. I just started to be a little more observant regarding the fluid after recently looking into that.
