What is the most ridiculous thing you've done for yourself that you justified with your pregnancy?

I'll start: 

I just bought a new Coach purse (my other is not even a year old). I "need" it because it has a longer strap that I can wear cross-body when I'm lugging the baby and a diaper bag around. 

In my defense, I did get it for 30% off. And free shipping. So I saved money. Ahem.

Basically anytime I eat something unhealthy but I'm craving it, I think/say, "But the BABY wants it!"

That's a given though, isn't it? My baby has been craving Chinese pretty much every Friday night ... for the past 10 years or so.

We just bought a new (to us) car because we "need a good family vehicle". Honestly though, we have been needing to buy a new vehicle for a while... just wasn't planning on it being an SUV.

This is my Mom and Dad.

So long as I keep this baby inside of me we are both benefitting. Last weekend Mom took me on a shopping trip and insisted on buying me a maternity wardrobe (score!) And when I visit we eat steaks with potatoes and salads for dinner because they know that is what I am hungry for.

They even changed their Winter vacation from the Caribbean to Europe to come visit me and their grand (in utero) and are buying themselves an iPad so that we can FaceTime so that LO can get to know their voices (while in utero.)

Once this baby is out I will be old news. I understand that LO is getting a nursery at their house too and possibly a second set of practically everything. This is the first grand and "Opa and Nana" are going a little nuts in a very endearing sort of way.

Also, a new pair of boots I got the other day. I bought them so I wouldn't slip on ice/snow and hurt the baby or something.

I really want UGG boots, but I never spend that kind of money on me...never!  I'm thinking my feet need to be comfy though while pregnant right?!?!

Look into Bearpaw boots, they look like Uggs and are a lot cheaper

I have a pair of those already and I do like that, but there is just something about the UGG...I found a website that sells them for cheaper so I am looking into that.

Get the UGGS. I am LIVING in mine right now and asking for two more pairs for Christmas you deserve to be comfy!

Also- right after Christmas, the store where I get mine puts a bunch on clearance. If you aren't particularly picky about the color or length you can get them for a steal. I'm sure most UGG stores do that after the holidays.

I think boots are legit. You really do need to be more careful. I did not really need a new bag.

my old laptop died just before we found out about little one. I was going to just share hubby's dektop but once morning sickness set in, we bought a used laptop so we could work from bed. Not as expensive as a new one but we are budgeting pretty tightly right now so that was a big spend! But "baby" doesn't like sitting at a desk right now... so I get a lot of work done laying on my side in my PJs!

@AllyTales I'm totally stealing that justification.

Mine has been the fact that I have been baking like a madwoman for weeks now. There hasn't been a moment in this house where some baked good isn't around. Normally DH and I are pretty strict with our diet and don't snack on stuff like that but "the banana bread is for the baby".

I got new UGG boots for my cold feet!! The baby and I have to be comfy. No ice in Houston...thank goodness!!!!

One can never have too many pairs of boots...
I may have asked for new black boots for Christmas because the black boots I have already have a heel, and I know I won't be wanting to wear those in another month or two

I've been using "2 against 1" when making decisions with the hubs. I always get my way because he is outnumbered ;;)

We just bought TWO new vehicles. I live on a long gravel road and need a SUV with 4 wheel drive ( for the baby's safety) and my husband needed a 4 door truck- for the baby!

Haha I love these!

I find myself buying more little things for myself, thinking "when the baby comes, I won't want to spend money as frivolously!" And I'm just talking about a cheap shirt here or there, so nothing crazy! But still. Justified, right?! :-p

Besides buying a ton of cute maternity clothes, lol, last night I ate this! Chocolate and Marshmallow Pizza!!! And that was after eating a regular pizza! I think I hit rock bottom! LOL

Maybe I'm weird, but honestly... nothing.  Outside of my current obsession with Cadbury Mini Eggs, I can't think of anything for which I've used the baby as an excuse.

I may or may not have just sent DH to Dunkin Donuts for a chicken biscuit "for the baby."

I take naps because the baby needs it's rest, I ate a whole sleeve of Thin Mints because the baby wanted them oh and also are probably 5 clementines because the baby likes them. I'm just doing what the baby wants.

I don't think DH will fall for it.  I'll just have to experience it through the pictures.

It's more DH than me actually...for ex, we just traded in our VW that we bought in September because baby needs more room than that. So we got a SECOND SUV...

I'm about to use it to buy a mamaroo because although we are planning to go simple this time, I want one. $250 or not... I'm also the same person who has to justify buying anything for myself that I don't "need". Not to him, but to myself. When he surprises me with things he always says "well, you never ask for anything or spend much on yourself so...."

It's what any good mother would do. There is nothing we won't sacrifice for our children. 

Like that order of pork fried rice I had as "bedtime snack" last night. Obviously that's for the baby.
