Stupid Drivers....

This is more of a vent than anything, so I apologize in advance. Yesterday on my way to work some woman slammed into the back of my car because she didn't see traffic coming to a stop and wanted to cut into my lane in back of me in time to make a merge onto another freeway. That impact sent my car into the car in front of me, and caused me car to spin half way around due to the impact. So I missed work yesterday while going to the doctor, getting x-rays (my neck started throbbing about 30 mins after it happened). I am home again today because I have a ton of vacation time despite recently coming back from leave. I am so sore, and have a massive headache. It's crazy that one person's bad driving could impact so many people, and what did she say to me while talking to the CHP officer afterwards? "Why did you stop so suddenly for no reason?" Um.... because the traffic in front of me was stopped and if you have driven this freeway more than once you know that area ALWAYS slows because of people like YOU that cut in and cause everyone else to brake suddenly. It happens every. single. morning. I am hoping they don't total out my car, and I am hoping that my neck doesn't continue to have issues from this.

@OhBenji Thanks! Luckily I had plenty of pain killers left over from my c section, so I am set!

That's good. I have a 30 minute commute to work in good traffic but there's usually 1 or 2 accidents on my way to work so the commute turns into an hour or longer. It always gives me a headache that I have leave home super early to get to work in time.

I drop off LO at 6:30 Wednesday through Friday, so it gives me an extra 20 minutes each morning. My commute sounds a lot like yours. I use two freeways, so a lot of people drive recklessly, makes me nervous. I always told DH how dangerous the interchange was where I got hit, and I used to say that some day I knew someone was going to get too close. Too bad I was right.

Oh gosh. I know what you mean. I always have to give myself extra time and people driving recklessly make me nervous as well. I understand everyone is in a hurry but driving like a lunatic wont help anything.

I always tell people, I can control my car but its other drivers that make me nervous.

 

Absolutely! My husband rides a motorcycle to work in the summer time and I say the exact same thing! I don't trust the people around him.

Well, I got a call from the body shop yesterday, he's not even done with the exterior damage estimate and he's already at $14k worth of damage.... I have a feeling they are going to total my car.

Sorry, I'm just so annoyed on your behalf.

She was too busy running back and forth between me and her smashed car, plus a language barrier.... I was thinking it though!!
