My confession is we bought DD diamond studs for her first Christmas. We totally got judged the other day when we picked them up. The jeweler said "do you want to wear them now, or just wrap them up?" I told her they weren't for me and asked her to wrap them. She replied " oh wow and how old is she?" Along with a dirty look. I wanted to throat punch her.

Well, diamonds are April's birthstone, so no judgiing here!  If you got her aquamarine for March I bet you wouldn't get a look.

Exactly. DH said whenever we found out she was a girl he wanted to get them for her first Christmas so we did. We waited a long time and went through a lot of hard times to get our little angel. :)

I guess I don't have to worry about baby proofing the Christmas tree since DD is TERRIFIED of it! I tried to take a picture holding her standing next to the tree and she screamed her lungs out. It was kinda funny...she won't even crawl in that direction.

omg! This is absolutely hilarious. Sad for you LO but the big pic, it's actually pretty funny. My coworkers 2 yo is afraid of the tree too. She got brave and went to touch it but tripped on her own feet, falling into the tree and her scream was "filled with sheer terror." Kids are so funny.
Haha. She was fine the first day we put it up and Dad even managed to get a pic with her, but she was so over it the next day.

  • You know the stereotype about how men turn into total babies when they are sick?
My confession: I am the total baby who refuses to do anything when I get sick; my husband is the one who will drag himself to work despite whatever illness he has (unless he's contagious, then I have to force him stay home).
Oh, and I had a piece of pumpkin pie for brunch today. Yes, brunch, because I had breakfast when it was much closer to lunch time.

My friend admitted to her husband last night that she had cheated on him. I've known about it for months. My confession is I'm kind of annoyed that he is forgiving her and staying with her! And it was with her husbands best friend!!!

Since we had a productive UO discussion, let's see if we can do as well with FFFC. Last night was the first night I spent away from the baby. Although she's still up a couple of times to nurse, I didn't get up to pump. Sleep was awesome. And she apparently doesn't nurse much overnight, because she didn't need a bottle in my absence overnight. #2 I have developed a fear of dying since having kids. I would never have contemplated the possibility of not coming home from a trip like this before kids. I guess now I feel like I actually have something important I would miss if I was gone.
    This is me too.
    This is me three.

  • I confess that my husband is driving me bat shit crazy tonight. He went to Happy Hour and although he seemed fine when he got home, a couple of beers later and he was annoyingly drunk. I swear I can't figure out what the hell happened to his tolerance - you'd think for sure he was the one who did not drink for 9 months;) he's also had a man cold all week - which could be confused with thinking he's dying given his behavior. And he sat on the couch tonight eating peanuts - chewing with his mouth opened, coupled of course with the heavy mouth breathing thanks to the man cold.

I am flying to Chicago and back on Thursday to qualify for Southwest's companion pass... My confessions is that I didn't buy Warner a ticket. We always get him a seat so he can be in his car seat , but this time I plan on just duct taping him to me or something. I feel like I may as well put him in the front seat of my car, unbuckled, and be like "good luck kid"... but Jesus the tickets were so freakin expensive.
I would get a belt that is super large (the type you put on your pants) and buckle him against you!
Just ask for a seat belt extender.

Not having this issue tonight, but I have started to loathe the nights that DH Has a couple of beers because he gets super annoying and then wants to sleep practically on top of me because he can't judge how close he's trying to snuggle, he breaths in my face, it drives me nucking futs.

I don't really think this is fair. I don't know the details of the situation, and what @christineeberle 's friend did was UNacceptable... but I also think that maybe it takes more balls to try to let go of your pride and work things out in your marriage after something really tough happens. I guess a lot of it depends on the circumstances of their particular situation and how repentant the wife is. I'm not saying that I would definitely stay with my husband if he cheated... it would be hard. But I do think that marriage is not something to be entered into lightly and maybe he is doing the best (and bravest) thing by working through the problems. Depending on the situation.
Yes, I agree with this.  If both parties are committed to change and to fixing their relationship, then he SHOULD give it a chance.  I don't know what I'd do in that situation - but I do believe in the concepts of forgiveness if it is genuine and intent is good.

I do agree with this, to an extent. But I most certainly wouldn't be agreeing to stay and forgive her ON THE VERY NIGHT she admitted it.

The thing is she lied to him for months. He became very suspicious a few times but she lied and came up with stories for her actions. Just the other day she was telling me how she couldn't quit thinking about the other guy. Now she acts like she is so sorry. The only reason she confessed is because the other guy began to brag to other people about the relationship and it got back to her husband. I told her she is very lucky he is so forgiving, I would have been thrown out no questions asked!! Part of me thinks she got off way to easy!!!!!

  • I confess that I had to stop making my own babyfood from my organic heirloom vegetable garden, and switched to store-bought produce, because it was taking away from my time of making my own baby clothes by hand, stitched from the yarn I made from the free range lambs I raise in the pasture behind my house.

Kidding obviously -- but a few weeks ago I commented in UO about "humble-bragging," and this would be an example. :-)

They don't allow you to do that with the seat belts, so if you do that you have to hide it from the flight attendant. They say it is a safety hazard. I think flying is a safety hazard anyway you spin it....
