Prevacid and Zantac

My LO is currently on the compounded Prevacid twice a day. He gets 2.5 mL which I assume is equivalent to the 7.5 mg he was getting twice a day but he wasn't keeping the solutabs down. He was on Zantac at first but it didn't seem to help him by itself. I was wondering if I could give him the Prevacid morning and night as usual and throw the Zantac in some time in the middle of the day when I can see his reflux is bothering him? Has anyone else tried this? Thanks!

That is exactly what we do at our pedi's direction. Prevacid early morning and before bedtime feeding. Zantac midday to act as a "bridge" for afternoon symptoms. Can't hurt to ask your pedi.

  • We do something similar- Zantac morning and night and Prevacid once a day in the afternoon. The Zantac did not work for my LO in the beginning but now it seems to really help.
