Slight vent....
So, I have a bit of a stroller obsession and I'm getting new strollers for Christmas That said, I'm selling my current strollers on Craigslist; this is my first time selling anything on CL. I got an email this morning about one of my strollers.
"These sell for $265 BRAND NEW, I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND OUTRAGED AT YOU!"

I responded saying the MSRP is $379 and I'd love to know where she saw one for $265.

No response yet. I really do want to know! I'm selling the stroller in question for $325 because its basically brand new.

Here are my thoughts.....

1 it's not my fault your a single mom.

2 single mother doesn't automatically mean you have no money (I assume that's what she's getting at?)

3 if you don't like the price, don't buy it

4 have you sent all the other people selling bobs hate mail? Because none of them are selling theirs for less than $300

5 is your life so sad that that email made you feel better?

I could go on, but I'll stop......

Yeah I sell on craigslist but on when DH is home. Too many crazy people out there. But seriously...put down the keyboard and walk away if a price makes you that crazy. Hopefully her psycho butt doesn't write back. Heres a idea..if you don't like the price posted...keep moving!

My first thought was if she can REALLY find one for $265 new she should run right out and buy it . Some people can be so ridiculous!

Wth? Geesh lady get a clue. Sorry for the cray cray. Hope you sell your stroller at the price you want. You wouldnt happen to have a Joovy you would want to sell? Lol

Thanks! I have two BOBs and possibly a b ready. My Christmas strollers are due to arrive tomorrow and Tuesday....I will have a stroller parking lot it's bad when even my dad asks how many strollers do I need oops! Some people love shoes..... I love strollers! Lol!

Lurking from other boards... I am a frequent Craigslist buyer and seller.  You probably should consider more of a discount for stuff you're selling unless it's really brand new in box.  From the buyer's perspective, it's used, there's no ability to return / warranty, plus they have to travel to go get it.  But, if you are over-pricing stuff, all that will happen is nobody will be interested and eventually you'll lower the price and someone will buy it.  Randomly flaming people via Craigslist is bizarre and not something I've experienced.

BTW, I always list stuff with my phone number and not e-mail to avoid all the "is this still available?" responses.  Easier and quicker to "close" a deal by phone.

Odd that she would write to complain. I love buying stuff on CL, but when I think something is over priced I just giggle to myself and skip right past it.

You don't owe her anything. CL isn't a charity so I don't know why she thinks sellers aren't entitled to make money.
