Anis seed ?

Has any one ever tried it for colic babies or babies with gas in general? My mom swears by it, she used it with my brother and I and said it works.. I'm by the book kind of person. My cousin tried it with 2 of her boys and said it's great. I'm still not comfortable enough trying it with my LO..

    I saw fennel in some of the drops I looked at...that tastes like anise. Maybe they have similar properties? My pedi was on the fence about any of it FWIW.
