I left my employer last month. In a nutshell they want me back and would increase salary.
I left for several reasons (too flexible-meaning i would normally work 7a-3p or 330p but sometimes I would work at midnight (for meetings with night shift) or meetings at 5p because i needed to meet with a evening group). It is never consistent like I know these meetings are held during the first 2 weeks of each month. I may have them all during the same week and that leads to an insane workload and day, commute increased from 10 minutes prior to baby to 45 mins to 1 hour due change in location). I was fortunate to stay home with my LO for close to a year by consulting part time. They would allow me to take off a day during the week but its soo hard to do so because I may have a pre-scheduled meeting or something.
I am looking for new opportunities but nothing yet. wondering what i should do. Truthfully i dont want to be a director anymore thats the primary reason why i left. I invested a lot in my education and its silly i feel this way but its just hard to find a lesser role. I do know as little one gets older i will appreciate flexibility. Despite working in healthcare industry i don't work weekends
Ladies what should i do? i know you can't make the decision for me just looking for points of view
Re: WWYD- Work related
sorry ladies I corrected: my core hours were 7a-330p
too flexible- meaning i I could take off a day during the week if I had meetings prior to 7a or 3p
commute time is 45mins to 1 hour. Hubby would do AM drop off
But, if you were unhappy, for whatever reason, and you can afford to stay home until you find something you prefer...I say go for it. No point in being miserable.
