TTC after 35

CD 8 EWCM??? So confused!

Long story short (See my post from the other day for the longer story)... I went to the Dr yesterday concerned about low progesterone levels and lack of EWCM the last couple of months. The last 2 cycles I started spotting 9 days prior to AF. I'm going for blood work on CD 23 this cycle.

So a little while ago, I went to pee and had EWCM on CD 8. HUH??? I even still have a  teeny bit of blood from AF. Is this possible to have EWCM so early?? Could this explain why I've been starting to spot around CD 20?  I'm was so annoyed because I have OPK's but wasn't going to start using them until CD 10 and I discover this right after I pee. I will use one later, just to see what is says. Anyway, DH & I BD because, well, why not?

I'll let you know what my OPK says... My poor body is so out of wack. I used to O & get AF like clockwork. I'm just so confused now.

Before you ask. No, I'm not charting. I'm not temping. I did it for 3 years and I am trying refrain from making myself crazy this time. (Never been PG, BTW.) I am just paying attention to the calendar, my CM & using OPKs. (And still making myself crazy.)

Re: CD 8 EWCM??? So confused!

  • I'm sorry things are so confusing, unfortunately things like CM and even OPKs can present confusing info, without temping to confirm things it's hard to know what's going on. For example, I often get EWCM for like 4-5 days before I O, and I usually O early (CD11), so this means I often start with EWCM pretty much right after my period ends on CD 6 or 7. I also get EWCM at random times in my LP. I also sometimes get several days of +OPKs before I actually O. The ONLY thing that is consistent on my chart and that I can take to the bank is my temping, those temps don't lie. It sounds to me like you're being made much more crazy by inconsistent secondary signs than you'd be if you just temped. I'd highly suggest getting that therm out of storage and starting to temp again.

  • I get EWCM sometimes at CD 8 but I usually O between CD 11-12....  like pp poster said..secondary signs can be confusing ....temping helps take the guess work out but I understand why you are trying to avoid the obsession part.

Your progesterone level should be checked six to eight days after you ovulate...  This is because progesterone levels rise following ovulation, peaking five to nine days after ovulation. Too soon or too late could give you false results.... Good luck!

  • So I did actually move my BBT from the box at the top of the closet to my nightstand draw. Battery still work. But I'm not ready to go back there yet. I started TTC in 2004 and did it all. All that beeping in the mornings drove myself, my H & my dog nuts. lol

My dr wants me to go for blood work day 23-25. I don't know why. I thought she would say day 21, but she said 23-25, so I'll go day 23. It's kinda for the best anyway since day 21 will be Christmas eve.
