How long does formula last? Baby's Only?

I have to buy a can of formula for when my daughter goes to daycare. I found a great deal on the formula I want to get and to get free shipping I would need to get 7 cans.
I am currently exclusively pumping and plan to pump as long as I can but I am sure there will be a time when formula will need to come into play so I am just thinking for the future.
How long does unopened cans of formula last? Would buying that many cans be pointless even for the great price?
Has anybody used the formula Baby's Only organic?

  • The Similac I just opened has a stamp that says "use by Nov 2016". I hope that helps. :)

  • Some of the containers when you read them completely say discard with in one month of opening. I'm not sure if all of them say it but I have seen it. They last longer unopened but once opened they begin to expire .. Well according to the can. We use about one plastic tub of powder every week.
  • I used Baby's Only a few days ago and it constipated my baby terribly! He was screaming in pain trying to push out poop, and when he did, they were really firm and streaked with blood. Basically, the pedi said that he was straining so hard he either had a fissure or hemmie. I was so sad b/c it seems like the best formula out there, but it totally isn't worth it to me if he's going to be in pain. I started giving him Similac Sensitive (I had a sample can) and prune juice w/ water (per the pedi), and after 2 days it worked.

I'm planning to try Baby's Only again when he's older - he's only a month old so he's still adjusting.

If you try it out, maybe supplement with probiotics or something to aid in digestion. But don't make the mistake I did and buy a case worth. I didn't get through one can before the problem started.
