I am prepared not to get many good reviews on this post but I will probably stick with Savannah if I have a girl (find out verrrrrry soon!) Which is more of the traditional/common-I just wanted another name to choose from that is trendy & that there wouldn't be anyone she would know with that name-but when people hear names they don't know they usually dont like them "Starla??" you would hear people say lol. I like it, thought it was cute cause obviously means star & I could have a whole theme to her room, lots of songs involving stars etc. Ah well, opinions?
I dont hate it, its actually a name my DH had on his list of names for a girl. We didnt go with it. My middle name is star and I wanted my daughters middle name to also be star. But if you like the name its your choice. You could always go with Stella which also mean star.

Or... Celeste. I know someone that named a boy "Orion". He was about 6 yrs old.Struck me as odd, but by the end of the evening (all of the grown ups were playing cards), I liked it.
Re: What do you think about the name Starla?
It makes me think of Darla from the Little Rascals.
DH says it makes him think of a hillbilly holler rat (and he's from the holler) LOL.
But, if you like it, do it. Lots of people hated Anakin's name.
NMS = not my style, in case you don't know.
I don't like it. It sounds like a middle aged ex-stripper waitressing at Dennys in the middle of the night.
Savannah is pretty and classic.
Sorry, screams middle aged hooker to me.... Or possibly a middle aged hooker's shitzu - no disrespect to shitzus intended.
Now, Savannah, I really like.
Oh, I just read the rest of the posts to see what the verdict was and I see I could pretty much have just said: "ditto"
Have you ever seen the female hillbilly halloween costume yep, costume=Starla.....
It's my OB's name. She was raised Amish.
I don't hate it, but NMS. I have something against names that end in "la"
P.S. Sorry the bump went crazy!

honestly, it makes me think of a stripper.
but i adore savannah.

I don't like Starla OR Savannah
But I like Stella or, even better, Celeste.
