Bassinet sheets quest

Hi sorry if this was asked already. I tried the search option and didn't find much. I got a bassinet from my cousin and it comes with a thin mattress and a thin covering over that. I bought standard cradle/bassinet sheets and they are way too big! What do you use for sheets on these? Sorry if this is a stupid question but baby is due in 4 weeks and I feel like I have nothing for he/she to sleep in without those sheets! TIA

Re: Bassinet sheets quest

  • see if you can't find your bassinet sheet size on amazon. There are actually many different standard sizes for bassinets and then there are the non-standard sizes as well. You'll have to measure the mattress and find a sheet that will fit it. I have an antique bassinet that I was able to find a mattress and sheet for in a non-standard size on amazon, so you might luck out with yours.

  • In my search for sheets to fit my arms reach cosleeper I did see mini bassinet sheets, maybe try searching for those?  I ended up just using the sheets made for the arms reach cosleeper so I'm no further help!

  • My bassinet and its sheets are a hand-me-down so I'm prefacing by saying I am of absolutely no help here.

I just have to stop in to say that the thread title had me picturing someone on an actual QUEST for bassinet sheets. I know it's supposed to be short for "question" but I'm immature. :D

Hahaha thank you bethugknee for the laughs!! I needed that. I guess it is kind of a quest as well as a question!! Lol
Yea I didn't realize that the size of he mattress would be so awkward when trying to find the sheets but all of your ideas have been very helpful! Thanks
  • Ooooh, question, not quest.  Right over my head.  *oops* :)

  • I have an antique bassinet as well.  LO is part of fourth generation to use it.  Anyway, before I was born, my mom made new sheets as she's very crafty like that.  If you're not crafty, I'd say search on Amazon or take a pillow case or a slightly oversized sheet and tuck it under the mattress as tightly as possible.  A friend of mine did that with her crib since her mom made her a bunch of larger lightweight blankets out of cotton.

  • You can do an amazon search by manufacturer too. Ours is Carter's so I can search for Carter's bassinet sheets and find some more likely to fit but yeah did bit have them for dd. I just washed the sheet that came with it a lot and had a few handy dandy pillow cases.
