Isabella has her first broken arm

I was praying she would get my husbands strong bones. I have had 5 broken arms and my 4yr old son has had 2 already. Worse was this was 100% preventable. Both kids had fallen asleep on the way home from picking up dinner so I laid them both on the couch. When my husband came home we were excited we got our first "quiet" dinner in months. We literally ate at the table behind the couch (same room). I heard her wake up when I got up to throw my trash away and made a BAD judgement call that I could make it to the trash first but while I did that I heard a plop. She fell off the couch. I knew the way she landed and didn't pop back up right away something was wrong. Then she wasn't moving her left arm. Mother's intuition or maybe the fact I had gone through this twice with my son I knew it was broken. It wasn't even 5 min after the accident I threw her in the car and headed to urgent care. She had a tiny little fracture near her wrist.Should heal really fast but it really is bad the timing. We have her first bday party next weekend, her bday and Christmas and this is just not how I pictured it happening with her in a cast. I am devastated for her. She isn't walking yet either so its been terrible she can't crawl around (she is still in a soft cast until we see ortho next week). This really stinks.

Re: Broken arm
My DD fractured her tibia at 10 1/2 months old. She had been walking for a month prior and was in a cast for a week. She got it removed and was back to walking 8 days after the fall. It took 4 weeks to be completely healed but she was still walking on it when it was healing. They heal so fast!! I highly recommend Tiger Balm, after 3 days we were able to take her off the high pain meds and just use the balm.
