11 week old suddenly can't stand daddy

My 11 week old has always loved being held by DH. She would sit with him, smile, play games, and fall asleep in his arms. But the past few days, she's turned like a light switch. I just handed her to him a couple days ago like I usually do when he gets home and she started fussing and then eventually started crying. Since then, she just wails like she's being tortured whenever I hand her off to him. 

I don't know what has changed really. The only thing I can think of is that we both have been sick the past week. DD never caught it, thank god, but both of us have gone through the whole head cold shabang with losing our voices and everything. He also is away from home around 12 hours a day, five days a week. But that never bothered her before.

I just need some help on what we can do to get her to fall back in love with daddy. It breaks my heart to see this happening because he's crazy about her and I can see how devastated he is when she cries like that and hands her back to me, just to have her not make a peep in my arms. I try to keep him from getting discouraged but it is very disheartening. Does anyone have any helpful advice?

I kind of sense the spiral happening. But maybe I'm contributing to it as well because I'm afraid she'll cry. I try to get him to keep holding her and just soothe her as best he can but he just gets overwhelmed so quickly because, up until now she's been like a dream, so happy and loving, it's like a slap in the face that she's acting like this all of a sudden. I'm going to try and get him to bathe with her tomorrow and see if that works.
