Hey everyone I am Candice and I am 6 weeks pregnant. We are pretty sure we have our names picked out already just want some thoughts on what we picked.
Perhaps in the next 34 weeks you will change your mind? I don't like the names, but then hearing that you chose them based on video games really makes me dislike them even more.

I'm not a fan but they are not the worst names I've ever heard.
DH and I had our girl name picked out the day after we knew we were expecting.
But we went through some pretty embarrassing "if it's a boy he'll be (insert really dumb name here)" and got a lot of side eyes. We just kept talking about it and came up with a way better name that we will use on our next if it is a boy. It was a girl.
I like really unheard of names (DD is Oona, a rarely used Irish name) and even some made up ones (my little sister is Michanie, a combo of our parents names, Michael and Melanie, I have always liked her name) but I looked over the names above three times an I can't make myself like them. Still, like I've said, I've seen worse.
Ok I am just saying naming your kids after video game character isn't bad. People name their kids after book and movie characters and fruits and vegetables and it's fine.

I think it depends on the name. Sometimes people name their kids after book characters and fruits/vegetables and I shake my head.
I really dislike both the names and would have mispronounced both of them. It is your child and so I have no say in what you name him or her but I hope you take time to think about them a bit more.
Congrats on your pregnancy.

What about Aiden Eli and Kiera Rae? They offer a nod to your original choice but they are recognizable and legitimate names.
Generally when you need to include a pronounciation guide for a name it isn't a great sign. Besides, when it boils down to it, do you REALLY want to name your CHILD after a video game? It's a person, not a pet.
Draco is a real name and a constellation. I'm pretty sure Katniss is actually a plant, though I've never really looked into it.
Im not really a fan personally, but as someone with daughters named after book characters, I cant really judge a name from a video game. I think so long as the game has some kind of personal meaning to you then using the name is fine. You will likely encounter pronunciation issues and lots of people asking questions about the origin of the name. You may be side eyed by some people if you say the name is from a game, but if you really love it then use it.
These are just not good names. Plus, the middle names sound really awkward with the first names. I would keep looking. You still have a long time to test out names.

Kairi will get mispronounced throughout the entire girl's life, usually like Carrie. It's not fun to have to correct someone every time your name is said.
I'm a teacher and I will never tell someone that they are or are not choosing terrible names, however, I will tell you no one will ever pronounce their names correctly. Your children will be correcting the pronouciation of their names their entire lives.
Please don't name your daughter Kairi. There's a little girl in my class named Kairi and her name is never pronounced right. Even now in December the other kids in the class cannot say her name right. Plus honestly, it's awful.

Re: 6 weeks and names are picked
I like Eli. I am familiar with Idan but not Iden

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I imagine Iden will get misspelled. I assumed you had possibly misspelled Idan.
I wouldn't name my children after video game characters.
It's the made-up part most people don't like.
Examples?
Draco
No one here would condone Katniss.
Draco is a real name.
well hopefully youll come to your senses in the next 34 vweeks
:-&Congrats on your pregnancy.
The fact that this was the first comment made me laugh even harder.
