Coughing

LO is 4 weeks old and is coughing and congested. We took him to the doctor yesterday and he tested negative for RSV and they said his lungs sounded clear. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help him with the coughing? Basically all the doctor told us was to suction his nose and to bring him back if it gets worse.

Run your shower and bring LO into the warm steam for a bit. When I did peds that's what we always recommended for a benign cough. Hope he feels better soon!!

We have been using drops of nasal saline and suctioning.

LO has the same, stuffy nose and a cough, put his Vicks humidifier on for the past 2 nights and it's helped a ton!

My LO has had this for a week and a half.
Last Friday we had to take him to the ER because he spiked a fever of 101.2. We had to stay for 48 hours while they waited for his labs to be run. They had him on IV antibiotics just in case. When all his tests came back negative all they said we could do was keep his bed at an incline, saline, suction and humidifier.
If you can, get a nose frida. It is much more effective than a regular bulb at clearing the sinuses.

I have been using the nosefrida with saline drops and I have put him in a steamy bathroom a few times. He sounds so pathetic right now and it breaks my heart. He seems to be breathing kind of hard today so I am going to take him to a pediatric clinic to have him checked out again.

Same thing here. My LO has had congestion and cough for the last 5 days. Took her to the doctor and he said suction and saline. Ts & Ps for your LO to get well soon!
