My sister is Taryn. She's a really awesome person. Strong woman and very successful. Of course I'm biased but I like her name.

I don't like the whole "yn" trend with names. I think it sounds masculine.

I don't particularly like the name. My name is Caryn pronounced Car-inn and nobody ever says my name right and it's terribly annoying.

It reminds me of the actress Taryn Manning (most recently playing the crazy abortion clinic shooter Pennsyltucky in Orange Is The New Black), she gives off a very specific negative vibe so I personally dislike it. It's not a bad name though, I just don't like the only association I have with it.

My best friend is Taren and I have an acquaintance names Taryn. I also have a 7th grader in my class this year named Taryn. I like it (I actually used it in a story I wrote when I was younger before I ever knew anyone with the name).

Yes, this is absolutely the first thing I thought of. Her specific character in OITNB makes me shudder and when I hear the name Taryn, her face pops into my head right away!

I knew a Taryn and she was an awful human being, so im not a fan of the name. Also it kind of sounds like Tara which i dont like at all.

that was a concern of mine, but it doesn't sound too masculine compared to other names.
