Soooo Dh is traveling as always every other week mon - friday night every other week for the past 10 weeks now. Last night I woke up at 2 am to what I though was doors opening that ripped me out of my sleep. Dog is sleeping in the bed next to me and didn't budge. So I tell myself it's all in my head nothing is wrong and it's just the wind. I keep hearing noises which freaks me out but again the dog is knocked out so it must be fine. Get up at 6 am to a whole bunch of texts from neighbors. Allllll of our cars have been broken into as well as people's sheds. Mind you I just moved to my new house in August so I was completely freaked out. Cops came, fingerprinted my car and others. The one thing I am most pissed about is they stole my flipping maternity jacket! Yes I care most about that. It's going to be a rough winter and I have zerrrrrrrro intentions to buy another since they are such a rip off. I hate people today. And to make matters worse..well kinda the funny side of things, they ripped the neighbors' snowmans' head off. WTH?!!! So..that's all I got. I called DH after the cops left and told him without question i want an alarm system asap with as much as he is gone. I don't even go to our basement when he is out of town like a child which is so ridiculous. Anyways..on another note I hope everyone has a great weekend!

EmAzeem  that's smart. I would. We have been discussing an alarm system for years but always brushed it off. But thankfully now he is all for it. Because he knows I will not sleep through the night now. I don't have a gun (not that I like gun) or a tazer or any other form of protection and my dog sure is ZERO help

Oh that sucks! My neighbors ' house was broken into earlier this week. The police said that this time of year, people get desperate. I'm sorry!

I hope they do too Ducky719! The worst is cleaning off nasty fingerprint junk all over my car with a toddler in the rain. So I had to wash him up as well as myself after the whole mess. I never even got to look in my husband's truck yet. It was too crazy this morning. So he is going to take a look tonight with me when I get him from the airport.

I am so sorry. That is very scary. I am pissed for you. I'm glad they didn't try to get into your house. I second the security camera system. We had one at our first house (we were in a sketchy-ish area at our last house, had our cars broken into a couple times, a couple of home robberies on our street) and it was very useful and comforting to me. I highly recommend it. We got ours at Costco. And the alarm is a good idea too, especially with you being home alone a lot. We also have guns for home protection, but I know that is a very personal choice and obviously need to be handled very carefully with children in the home.

I hope they catch them!

Oh no, that is terrible!  I am sorry.  I have a maternity coat that I have no intention of ever using again, if you would like it.  Nothing special, just a red toggle coat.  PM me if you want it!  I forget what size it is - probably a medium, but I can go find it and let you know

Oh no, I'm so sorry! Is there a string of mass car break ins in NoVA I need to be aware of? We are out west, but this kind of stuff freaks me out!!

Bless your heart! That's very scary. I'm glad DH is home tonight with you though so you'll feel better. Definitely would get an alarm system too! And if you do, let your insurance company know - most carriers will give you a credit on your premium for having an alarm.

Check out Old Navy and Gap for a new jacket - they have some really good sales right now so maybe you can find a cheap one!

We got an alarm system after A was born. DH wanted it installed when he returned to work.

People really do suck sometimes

Thanks guys! Not opposed to guns just not in my home. I would be te one person who shoots dh but I'm freaked out and he decides to surprise me. Ugh horrible though.

Yup spoke to insurance have to pay a 500 dollar deductible so that is out. Going to see if I can find one I. Consignment now.

Ruthie04 turns out the area little rocky run in Clifton had mass break ins as well and last night where I am in fairfax another 15 homes. So it's definitely going on in different areas at night. Stupid kids!!!

Girl it's close enough. My friends said centerville area, Clifton and fairfax had been hit. Always something. But tonight everyone has lights on so I'll be extending my timers until we get. System next week. Hopefully your area stays untouched!

That totally sucks!  I'm glad they left your house alone, but none the less that is totally crappy, inconvenient and way annoying.  Our neighbors house got broken into last Fall and a few weeks later our house got 'cased' and I flipped out.  We got an ADT security system and my husband installed cameras around our property.  I wasn't effing around anymore.  With little kids and with you being home alone so much I would definitely invest!  I think the nicer your neighborhood the more 'hot' it is ... at least that's how it is around us.
