TTM About Organizing You Kid's Art Supplies

DS is 5 and we have a ton of art stuff; coloring books, markers, crayons, colored pencils, colored paper, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, glue, clay, paint, etc. I could go on and on.

And my brother got DS this easel from Ikea for Christmas

So how do you organize your kids art supplies? We want to have an art center essentially. Does anyone have a super organized art center? Or know someone who does?

ETA: We want it to be really accessible to DS. Like if he wants blue paper and markers, he can grab it himself.

Those Rubbermaid Christmas ornament boxes are awesome for organizing art supplies.

ETA We have one kinda like this, but taller and narrower. We have one level for paper, one for markers/crayons/colored pencils, one for embellishments )like sequins, googly eyes, pom poms), etc. etc. You can just configure the cardboard dividers that come with them accordingly

ETA again - ours also has stackable levels that snap off so not really like this one at all LOL:

We have a drawer in the kitchen peninsula that is full of paper, coloring books, stickers, stamps, and the like. I also have a small storage container with paints, brushes, markers, and Playdoh.

Use those plastic tackle boxes for markers crayons ect. LIke this... you can adjust the size of the spots.

And use these for paper ect.

Oh that is pretty. Our art center will be in an unfinished basement with 12x12 carpet thrown down, but I'm definitely stealing some ideas.

We have a room with built-ins that house the craft supplies. I really love the Sterilite flip top storage boxes. The lid is attached and raised so it always closes nicely for stacking. And the containers are completely clear.

My master plan is to hack a room dividing island between the living room and dining room that can house baskets of supplies and function as a mini-office.

Everything is currently in rubbermaid tubs... yeah...

We use toy bins from an IKEA system, but we're running out of room.

I did an image search for art supply organization and there were so many awesome systems/ideas. My favorite shelving is pricey ($345) from a daycare supply website. Maybe find something similar from IKEA? It's the last shelving on this page:
