So it's actually my cat's name but I think it could be sort of adorable on a little girl...who could grow into a responsible lawyer or politician. It's sort of non-traditional or faux (but not really) British Isles-y. The only problem I've had is a rather rude British woman noted that it was a "really nasty part of Britain."
It seems like it's historically been more common on boys than girls but has all the makings of a nice girls name. Also, tons of really fun nicknames (that, again, I use for my cat so who knows if they'd transfer well to a real, live human)
Cute spin on Darcy or a name to leave to the dogs (&cats)?
Re: Name to Consider: Darby
We have a Darbie that's a reg on this board. I don't think that's her actual name, but that is who I thought of first!
I think it could be cute on the right little girl.

It's so interesting to me how these sort of boards really develop personalities when it comes to preferences & style.
I think it's likely different in the UK where it's been historically a 'real' name.
