All paid up?

Are you all paid up with your doc's office at this point?

Curious bc I've not seen a single bill and asked each appointment how much I owe. I'll get slapped with a giant bill at one of these upcoming appts, I just know it. This probably sounds dumb, but I don't even know what my doc's fees are. Haha.

Re: All paid up?

  • Does your office do a package price? That's what mine does and you won't get a bill until after you deliver. You can always call and ask them.

  • For me, everything is covered 100% by my insurance, so no bills.

I would ask at your next appointment.?

  • Hmm I'm confused? Didn't your OB's office give you a breakdown of your costs at your first appointment? My office sent me a letter before my first appoinment showing how much my insurance covers (100%, woohoo) and what we would have to pay for (nothing). I'd call the office and ask to speak to whoever takes care of insurance/billing.
  • I've asked every appt. To which they've responded "you have until your 7th month to pay the doctor's fees." Lol. I LOVE my doctor though. My next appt is 1/8 and I plan on pretty much being b!tchy until I get some sort of fee schedule and answer on payments. They haven't billed my ins company a darn thing so my ins company isn't any help either. I know our deductible and coinsurance...so I can figure an approximate amount after that.
  • I only had to pay my first appt. copay ($20) and I'll have to pay my coinsurance at deliver - but can't pay that until after I deliver.
  • my office takes your insurnace info when they confirm the PG and they submit a claim for a run of the mill vaginal birth. They then have you pay the balance montly and expect it to be paid in full by 6 months. My insurance changed early in my pg, to better coverage, so I ended up with a credit, which will be good since i am now having a c section and there will be extra cost involved in that
  • My doctor had me pay my portion for his bill by my 6th month. So I'm all paid up with him, once I deliver though we'll have the hospital bill, anthesologist bill and of course the pedi bill as well.

  • I pay my last payment of $107 (I had 4) on Friday, but they wont submit the claim until I deliver in March.  So now I am stuck with meeting my $250 deductible again starting tomorrow, on top of the $430 I have already paid that my insurance does not know about until I deliver!  What a PITA!
