No use crying over spilled milk?

Oh yes, yes there is a very good use. Well I just had my first real post partum breakdown, and it all started with spilled breast milk. My LO is 24 days and we struggled to breast feed and it just wasn't going to happen. I'm not ready to give up on breast milk so I have been pumping with a manual hand pump and fighting the medical supply company to get me my electric pump! Finally got the pump yesterday and what do I do today? Knock over the bottle that contained enough for an entire feed!! At the same time baby is starting to fuss, dog needs to go out, and I still have not managed to get in the shower or clean anything. So I lost it, just started crying my little heart out as the dog decides to start lapping up the milk on the floor. Had to call DH ugly crying and he can't understand anything besides spilled milk and thankfully he was able to sneak out of work early. I made it through! Just thought I would give you guys something funny to read:)

Spilled breast milk is always worth a cry. I'm sorry.

  • Oh man I know how you feel. I'm doing the same thing. My LO is 7 weeks old and I am barely getting enough to feed him BM exclusively, so if I knocked over a bottle I would totally lose it too.

  • I've done that too! I was SO pissed at myself. 3 oz down the drain, which took me ALL day to get.

  • I about ugly cried too when I spilled my BM the other day. I have a low supply and when I knocked over my BM I about lost it.

  • I am also exclusively pumping and lost 5oz. I also broke down crying. When you work so hard to get the breast milk, and see all that hard work down the drain (literally) it is heartbreaking.
