Help! My 11 MO son is gnawing everything and everyone. How do I stop him? He doesnt understand no. He was born 6 weeks early so he is about 10 MO in development.Any recommendations to curb this behavior?
My DD was knawing on the coffee table awhile back, so I put some vinegar on my finger and rubbed it all around the edges. I wanted something that would taste bad to her, but wouldn't hurt her. It is a glass and metal table, so the vinegar didn't hurt it either. It worked!
At this age I'd just redirect. Kids put everything in their mouths, so you better get used to them chewing on things. Start getting good at redirecting them towards something safe to chew on. I'll do this and give my kid something like his Sophie or a frozen waffle since it's probably teething thats bothering him.
My pedi actually said babies born early only take as many weeks to catch up as they were early. So, if your LO was 6 weeks early he should have been caught up by the time he was 6 weeks old. I asked about this because DD was 3 weeks early. Just a thought.
my son is making gnaw marks on the rails of his crib. it looks like a beaver was chewing it. he does this when he wakes up from a nap but doesn't start crying for me yet, so i can't stop him. I'm afraid of the wood chips getting in his belly, plus I don't want to refinish the crib for his future sibling.
