edited December 2013 in TTC after 35
I'm starting first monitored cycle with my re...I'm starting antibiotic (H too) day 3, clomid cd 5-9 and having hsg done fsh checked progesterone, etc...on my 2 cycle if this one doesn't work what do they repeat? I mean I know I won't do hsg again but do they do the fsh every month and ultrasound with estradiol , trigger shot, and progesterone? I'm just wondering what we have to pay to do cycles over and over...is this clear as mud? Lol UPDATE***** Had blood work sat ten vials worth! I am confused had d&c Oct 16 then November 8th had what seemed like normal AF. Was suppose to start 2nd AF last Thursday but has only been spotting or when I wipe...no pad needed...do I count this ? Suppose to be on monitored cycle and also is this light period from the d&c maybe? Anyone have this...hope this period hasnt messed my cycle:( I don't think I ovulated last cycle either..everything was normal until d&c

  •  I think I know what you are asking.... you are doing some basic testing ( HSG) along with the start of a Clomid cycle.  ( not iui).  The HSG you only do once.... but if this cycle is not successful and you do another CLomid cycle  or injectibles then yes you do blood work and the meds all over again.  SOme RE's do not check FSH every cycle others do....  The ultrasound is SUPER important as well as Estradiol!  Clomid can cause cysts and thin your lining out ( that is why there is a 6 time max usage).  So being properly monitored is super important !  They also want to make sure you do not over-respond ( you don't want to be John and Kate plus 8) so they make sure you have the appropriate response...

    Good luck!

  • My insurance paid for everything because they considered it all diagnostic. Ultrasounds, meds, HSG, labs. As soon as I say I want IUI or IVF then they paid for nothing because then they considered that fertility treatment, as long as we did timed intercourse everything was paid for.
