Hey Ladies
Our carrier just got medical clearance (yay!) and we have started the legal process. Since things have moved to the next step, discussions have starting about the actual medical aspect of this whole thing. Our fertility clinic is giving us an option for our carrier's monitoring appointments. We can either require her to go to the fertility clinic or she can have them done at a regular OB clinic closer to where she lives.
She lives about 2 hours away from the fertility clinic and I believe her regular insurance might cover a couple of the monitoring appointments (they covered our SHG because she had it done at an in-network facility), but the fertility clinic did tell us that by having her go somewhere else, they might not get the results same day or they might not get the exact test they want.
I'm not sure what exactly is all done at the monitoring appointments but I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on what we should do. DH and I are kind of on the fence right now and our carrier is willing to do whatever we want. She's leaving it totally up to us. Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks much!

Re: Question about Carrier Monitoring Location
Wow - this is a tough one. Please take my comments with a grain of salt since I have no GC experience. But if I were in your shoes and the GC was willing to go to the fertility clinic + DH and I were comfortable with the cost difference ... I would want as much done at the fertility clinic as possible.
Naturally you and DH have to do what makes you comfortable! Congrats on the Medical clearance - YAY!

I live in MO and the fertility clinic was in CHI. I did all of my monitoring at an RE in my town and did blood work at Quest, the results were then forwarded to the RE in CHI. FYI, she shouldn't be using her insurance until she is released to her OB.
