Spotting before AF

The grad story post got be thinking about my spotting before AF.

While I was going through my m/c I was on Crinone for low progesterone. The RE I was seeing at the time said it was due to chromosomal abnormality and my body was just m/c because of that and low progesterone was due to that.

Fast foward to now, I am doing 3rd IUI and it dawned on me that I am spotting 2-3 before full flow every cycle since then except for this last one.  I know for some its normal but for others it just low progesterone.

I put a call into my RE. Maybe he will add it to this cycle?  

I still have non-expired crinone hanging around... tempted to try it during the 2ww.... but won't if RE says not to.

Do you spot before AF? Is your progesterone ok?

I never spotted until I had my first CP last year. For whatever reason I would spot any where from 2-5 days before AF. I was tested for low progesterone and everything looked fine. I actually spotted less on my 2 femara cycles. I agree with asking your doctor about it.

You know, I always trip out when I hear people talk about spotting.  I have never spotted in my life.  I mean my AF comes, it comes.  I only had strange spotting after my surgery.  So I am no help, but I am on the complete opposite as I never spot.  (I say that and watch I will spot) LOL

Have you done any sort of Progesterone testing prior to the IUIs? You can definitely ask, if nothing else, the supplements won't hurt, you know?

Well I got a call back from the RE nurse and she said she will have RE look at the note and call me Monday after my u/s and bw in the morning. I mentioned to the nurse I have spotted 2-3 days before my AF every cycle since m/c and a few before. I originally thought it was due to nursing but it has persisted through weaning and my m/c.

I guess this RE doesn't test progesterone but maybe cd 21 would be the day they'd check it or 7 days after IUI.  I am going to push for it and maybe even take the crinone I have if there is no risk. 

Things are getting agressive up in here... well for me at least!

That makes sense. My RE won't bother with the testing either. She says the numbers fluctuate too much to get any real idea if there is a problem- but that always made me wonder what is the point of there being testing available if it doesn't even matter, right? She either gives you the script or she doesn't. She told me I could take it for the IUI, but didn't think it would matter much anyway- then again, I never had any spotting, and I didn't really think progesterone was an issue for me anyway. 

Have you charted in the past? You can sometimes see the temp drops which could potentially indicate a drop in progesterone.

Yup I have charted since I got PP AF so almost 2.5 years. My temp drops, I spot, AF comes 2-3 days later. Spotting is the sign of AF not pg.

Ohh yea, I would definitely push for that progesterone! When is your next IUI?

Ever since DD2 was born I have spotted as early as 5dpo continuing up until af around 14dpo. Progesterone alone did nothing for me, but clomid with a gonal f booster on cd9 has given me cycles with a spotting-free LP of 12/13 days. This is actually my first natural cycle since my mc (minus my first post d&c cycle), so I'm interested to see what my body has in store for me. My RE is on the prescribe progesterone since it can't hurt anything team.

I don't typically spot before AF but if I do it is usually just the day and/or the night prior, and then the next morning I get the full show.
