March 2012 Moms

sometimes

Sometimes being the mom of a toddler is hard and frustrating and I just want to go hide until she is old enough to listen and understand.

I have spent my morning chasing DD out of the kitchen chairs (she keep pushing them up to the counter but there are unsafe things on the counter and the stove is on).

Then I've been chasing her away from the tree. The gate play pen thing isn't working either. At least not working well.

I've been trying to redirect and give her projects she can do but instead of falling for it, it has just been a morning of tears and tantrums. So, so ready for nap time.

One of the reasons I'm happy I work is because I can escape sometimes!

I hear you...these kids are pretty frustrating at times. We didn't have childcare today so DH is home with DS. Bahahahahahaha!

I love being home with her but sometimes I wish I still worked. But when I worked, I worked with kids so it still wouldn't be an escape. lol

  • I hear you! Yesterday DS tried to get the sippy cup he dropped on the stairs, and got his head stuck under the gate. It fits sideways but he straightened out his head and couldn't get back under. Today he tripped and has a fat lip. He lost the remote this morning and I can not find it anywhere, even checked all the stockings- no remote but did find his play screw driver. DS has two teeth coming in and DD is working on her first teeth. I am so far behind on paperwork. Working from home with the two of them is near impossible. Done complaining, sorry! Hope your day gets better :)

We still to this day have not found our Blu-ray remote that went missing after my oldest's 3rd bday party last December.

  • We found our roku remote INSIDE the couch. Like, inside the wooden frame. DH had to cut it open.

  • I did the same as Excited.. all no non breakable ornaments at this stage and I bought some cheap kids ornaments .. resin penguins and bears and snowmen which cost about $2 a pack of 4 at Walmart... added in 3 animated christmas plush puppies ..since he is a huge doggy fan and those were the ones he was ok to touch

.. but I did anchor my tree to the wall using a length of chain and a screw in to the wooden fireplace mantel... that way neither he nor my overly adventuress kitty can pull it over.

I'll add the tree topper and other lights etc in a week or so when he is less enthralled with the tree.

  • She broke the non-breakable ones. She was just in a mood the day I posted this. She would seriously do everything she knew she wasn't suppose to and then throw a tantrum when she got in trouble. She is doing better now. And the gate play pen thingy is now working. She can reach one ornament but it is getting better with that. She just needs to learn as the house where we have Bible study has a tree up in their living room.

I was concerned about DS at Grandmas, her tree always looks like someone threw up Christmas on it  LOL... seriously.. ornament overload is an understatement.  Some of these ornaments  are  from MIL's childhood and they all get an ornament every year... but surprisingly he  didn't even give it a second glance let alone touch it .. maybe  you wont have a problem if she is otherwise occupied.  My lil man only messes with the tree when he is bored and trying to get in mischief for attention lol

  • We got our tree last night and it is sitting in the living room bare at the moment.  I really don't want to start the redecorating game.

I'm amazed but DS hasn't even touched the tree. He helped me decorate it and he helps me water it but he doesn't go near it except to look.
Lucky!  We brought the tree into the living room Saturday night and I haven't put anything on it yet but lights.  While I was in the shower and husband was in charge on Sunday, the boys decided to decorate it themselves; with toys, shoes, and whatever else they could find...  It took me forever to pull all the train cars, flip flops, packs of fruit snacks, etc. out of there!  I am in no hurry to put ornaments on.
