NCDR red eye rash?

About a week ago M had these tiny white bumps in the corner of his left eye, just under and over his eyelids, in the corner. Just a few. They would get red sometimes after rubbing. He rubs his eyes when tired. The last couple of days, instead of just the white bumps the area is red. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. No scratches or open skin, but obviously red. It's not affecting his eyeball at all. No discharge. There's no way I could get a picture of it. I put some breast milk on it today. It's not worse, but I don't think it improved either. Any ideas? MH is adamant about going to the pediatrician, but it doesn't look horrible to me. Obviously I'll take him if it's worse.

Forgot about this. If it is a stye, cotton balls with warm water to clean the area.

  • I will do coconut oil today, @tj1979.  I'm not sure it's a stye since there are multiple tiny bumps, @csspencer and @sarenu1

  • Hope it clears up.

If not you could always give your doctor a call and ask the nurse if it's serious enough to warrent an appointment.

They don't charge us for calls and it's kind of nice not having to drag a child to the doctor for unnecessary visits.

yeah, our pediatrician office allows calls too. I will do this if the coconut oil doesn't help

  • If the breast milk didn't help, is better to take your LO to the DC. The breast milk is antibacterial and is great for any kind of skins issues. Plus I don't think is a good idea to put anything around the eyes area, the area is very delicate that can get irritated very easy.
