So, I have finally been able to get my ass in gear and lose some of the baby weight. (Note ticker-- DD is almost 2).
I gained 60 lbs with DD-- and although about 40 came off in the months following her birth, I was about 15 lbs over my comfy weight when I became preganant. This left me with approx 35 extra lbs hanging around.
Since August I have lost 20 lbs-- which is great. I feel happier, I still have a ways to go, but I am doing it because I need to. I don't talk about losing weight, I don't discuss it at work mostly because I hate it when people talk nonstop about dieting and weight loss. It's anxiety provoking, IMO.
Anyway-- people at work are starting to notice-- and have been making comments. Many times, I am caught off guard and often get embarassed because it's usually some one exclaiming in a highly populated area something like "Have you lost weight???" (it's been happening at least once a work day)
This typically makes whomever is in the general surrounding area take a look over at me/us and I literally want to crawl in a hole. I am generally able to stammer out "Thank you for noticing." (I know "have you lost weight" wasn't/ isn't phrased like a compliment, but I don't know what else to say.)
I guess I am not really so much looking for advice, but maybe some validation that it's not really normal to just scream at someone about their weight loss. I realize it's probably (maybe?) a compliment, but I am a pretty private person and weight talk makes me self concious. I realize I am a bit more sensitive to weight issues than others due to a past eating disorder (so I do try to keep that in mind) but I am still having anxiety about this.

Re: Have you lost weight?
I finally just sort of learned to smile and say thanks. Or if they asked, "have you lost weight," i'd say, "I have," and just suffer through it and hope that was the end of the conversation.
I don't have any advice because I know how it feels, and there's nothing really to be done about it but to deal with it, but I just wanted to say I can understand how you are feeling.
OMG-- I totally can relate to this. I feel like I need to being my snacks into the bathroom with me like a crackhead.

I work in a corporate setting as well-- but my office is probably 95% women. For some reason I feel like that makes a diff.
I used to work with mostly men, and this ish never happened.
