What's on your To Do List?

.... Before baby comes? Holiday shopping, stocking up on baby supplies? Returns/exchanges at Babies R Us???

I have done no Christmas shopping. And I still need to finalize our birth "guidelines" (trying to be flexible) and pack a hospital bag. And stock up on maxi pads, apparently???

What about you all???

Re: What's on your To Do List?

  • Ummm. Buy/install a new kitchen, including appliances and tiles. Buy/install a new bathroom. Paint at least the baby's room. Repaint her cot. Get cot bedding, a pram and a set of drawers. Unpack the following rooms from the move - every room in the house.
I would also like to get the ready lawn people in to at least quote lawn. I need to plant the 16 trees that arrived today.

This year christmas is cancelled. I told people I am staying at home doing nothing. They took it upon themselves to invite everyone to my house so I wouldn't be alone? How about you can fuck off, my kitchen/bathroom doesn't go.

Also I will be working 60 hours this week and next, then 75 hours the next week.

I'm considering this extreme nesting? It might be a mental disorder. There is a slight problem, it is now 8:15pm, I am going home and going to bed... Not sure how I am going to achieve my to do list before christmas NEXT year, let only the one in 3 weeks time...

  • All of my Christmas shopping is done except for DH so I feel great about that. On Black Friday we also finished buying the last remaining items on our registry that we needed for LO so now it's just organizing and putting it all away and getting it assembled.

Other than that, I need to get our guest room ready for when people come out to visit the baby, make some more freezer meals, and pack my hospital bag. I was much more stressed a month ago but I feel like we are in great shape now, as long as my little girlie stays put for a while longer.  :)

  • I'm super stressed because I currently can't make a to do list :( we are hanging out in limbo, waiting to see if we get this house or not. I have a rough idea of what I want to accomplish if we get the house. If we don't? I'm just going to sit on the floor and cry.

I washed most of her newborn stuff yesterday, so at least now she won't be naked. Find victory in the small things, right?!

  • I think the better question would be what's NOT on my to do list right now.

  • Yeah - the better question is what isn't on my list. There's so much to do: get carpet cleaned, finished Christmas shopping, wrap presents, do everything for baby's arrival [wash clothes/sheets, prep crib, pack bags, do my hospital tour etc.], etc. I'll get around to it.

  • I need to find the baby clothes, wait until after Christmas to get the rest of the baby stuff, tell DH where to move furniture in our room (he won't let me move stuff :D ).

Huh, when I put it like that, it isn't too bad.

I have to wait for my car seat to show up so I can install it, and DH wants to get my van door 150% fixed instead of 70% fixed (it doesn't like to stay latched, grrr, but it's not like it flies wide open). That money is going to cut into our Christmas budget, but I think he's going to to shopping first, door later. We'll see how that works!

  • Need to figure out the dresser situation, order prints to hang up in the room, buy a rug, put together the PNP, wash some NB and 0-3 clothes. Buy the rest of the necessities from our BRU registry. Figure out a way to get DH to get rid of the extra couch and chair in our living room so we can set the swing up in the living room.

DH wants to get a counter for the peninsula in the kitchen and add some insulation to the attic since there is none above our kitchen or above our porch. Of those things, I think the insulation is the most important one.

  • What's not on my to do list :(

Got most of my returns done, thankfully...
Mainly: clean. Cook for holiday parties. Clean. Nursery. Clean. Laundry. Shopping for my nieces.

  • Clean carpets
Buy some diapers (a few of different brands)
    Dig out car seat wash
Put pad on my side of bed (water broke before in bed)
    Charge pump
    Make freezer meals
    Buy easy meals
Wash clothes I lent to a friend
Make a copy of drivers license & insurance card
    Wash pacifiers & bottles
    Do fmla paperwork

I'm a type A planner & usually have everything done really early. I asked my dh if I'm niaeve or what. Im slacking on this stuff. Maybe because I've been busy with older & work. I've got a lot to do today while they are at grandmas!!

  • We are actually in pretty good shape. Need to install car seat bases (which we can do before bringing lo home), put a sheet on cradle, get some tubing for breast pump. Pack my hospital bag, lo hospital bag and DS and dog bags. DS came 5 weeks early, and we literally had nothing ready for him (we ended up in the NiCu for 2 weeks, so DH was able to finish some things before we came home). So our goal was to be ready by Thanksgiving, and we are.
  • Everything is on my to-do list.

For today my plan is to get everything moved off of and out of my dressers, plus clean the bedroom floor so that we'll be ready for our new bedroom furniture to arrive tomorrow.

After that I'll be able to start washing LO's clothes because we'll be using my old dressers for baby's things.

  • Um, yea, we're in the everything camp. DH is supposed to be putting in the carpet so we can set up the baby's room and get her stuff out of my dining room/living room... Hopefully this weekend? Christmas shopping is also completely undone... nothing is ready for baby... meh, one day at a time. I almost have the Christmas cards ordered!

  • Finish renovating our house (that includes finishing the nursery!), more baby shopping (first I have to do an inventory of what we already have), Christmas stuff-shopping, making plans, etc., find a daycare provider, find a pediatrician....I feel like I'm super slacking.

This baby can come any time between now and whenever in January!! I need some serious motivation!
