Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Growth spurt rant

My daughter is just over 2 weeks, EBF and has consistently been eating about every 2-3 hours and usually sleeping in between . Until today - today I've been feeding her nearly every hour and she's wide awake in between. Per the internet I guess this is totally normal but YIKES, she's a whole different baby! I haven't been able to get anything done today but feed her and change her. I feel like we're both becoming cranky and exhausted :/ hurry up growth spurt and be over already!!

Ok end rant.

Re: Growth spurt rant

  • We have experienced the same thing all day. Not only is she wide awake she is screaming her little head off... I am hoping she has wore herself out and sleeps tonight.

  • My lo is three weeks today and just getting past this i think. Don't worry, it'll come to an end!
  • Doesn't get better even at 3 months! :) but now he eats longer and pulls harder.
  • My LO is 6 weeks and has hit another growth spurt! He's eating every hour like clockwork and then he sleeps or fusses in between. It's exhausting for both of us, but I'm trying to enjoy the time we have to bond because I'm sure in the blink of an eye he'll be crawling/walking/running away from me!

Sympathies!  Our one-month-old just went through this this week.  We are so relieved that she's back to her usual calm and sleepy self today!

ETA:  Wearing her between feeds helped, at least a little.  :)
