Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Intro and question: Could it be over?

Hi, I know every loss is different but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this because I don't know what to expect now. I started having some bleeding at 6w2d with very mild cramping on the first day and a few small blood clots. I had my first 7w OB appointment scheduled in a few days. Even though I figured something was wrong it was hard to hear there was a sac and no clear baby growing. My OB said the sac looked like it was already collapsing in on itself and since I'm very regular (cycle wise) I can most likely expect a miscarriage but come back in 2 weeks to do another u/s and some blood work. I have been bleeding like a period since it started (12 days all together). One day is seemed like a little bit more bright red with mild cramping and maybe small blood clots (like mucus when I wiped) but no tissue or big clots. I stopped bleeding yesterday all together. I see my doctor next Monday and I hate not knowing if this is over or if I will need to medically intervene. I just want this to all be over with so I can begin to heal physically and mentally and move forward. Any idea what to expect or anyone have this experience? My OB said natural miscarriages are painful while passing clots and tissue. The waiting has been so hard. TIA and thanks for listening.

Re: Intro and question: Could it be over?

  • So sorry you are going through this. I didn't have a natural miscarriage so I do not have much experience to offer, but I am guessing the ultrasound will check if everything was passed and your doctor will make a recommendation from there. Hugs to you during this time.

  • I had 2 NMC, both at around 6 weeks as well. Maybe I'm the only one, but I never has an U/S post MC. I bled and cramped with lots of clots and tissue (it was painful), it was NOT like a normal period at all. The bleeding lasted about 8 days. I got my hcg repeated but went down pretty quick. The next month I got a period. Except for second MC. I never got AF, and ended up pregnant again. I started bleeding 9/4/13 and again lasted about  8 days. I had BFP 10/3/13 but that one ended as a loss as well. I had a D&C for the 3rd and that was almost 4 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for AF...Both my NMC were similar in bleeding, clotting and pain. Once I passed the bigger clots, the bleeding did slow down and eventually stopped. It never stopped and started again.

  • I do not recommend a natural MC. I did it and my night mare ended A MONTH LATER. My HcG levels are at .1 right now. Seriously, a nightmare....then they thought I may have to have a D & C anyways after a month. Not cool! Luckily that wasn't the case and all is cleared out. Opt for a D & C and save yourself a lot of pain and heart ache.
