Sorry I disappeared!

I fell off the face of the planet for a bit there. Sorry! Between work being crazy, general pregnancy tiredness, and a super whiny toddler I haven't had much free time. How's everyone doing here?

In other news, I could use some advice. Evan has become super whiny lately about literally everything. His new favorite lines are "I don't wanna" and "I just don't wanna do anything". Often the whine fests lead to complete meltdowns. I've tried telling him that he needs to use his big boy voice and then ignoring. If it turns into a tantrum we'll take some chill out time in his room. I don't ever give in to the whining and I've tried to empower him by giving him lots of choices.

Any advice on how to help? Do I have a depressed kid on my hands? I'm thinking it could be related to baby comig, but we're showing him tons of attention and love still. Ugh. Tia.

We definitely had some acting out whining before dd was born. It does get easier. Eventually.

Eh my boys are in the whining stage and I am not expecting.  So I just think this is a phse- keep handling as you are already doing.

I agree, I think it's just the age and a stage.  S is so whiney and I just have to ignore her.  This morning she wasn't ready to get dressed so she laid down on her stomach face down and did her fake whiney puppy dog noise which I CAN'T STAND.  I told her if she didn't pick out a shirt right now I was going to do it for her.  She didn't move so I did and dressed her myself.  As long as she knows she's not in control (which she's not a fan of) the tantrum goes away quickly.
