Secondary IF

Do you ever wonder?

What is the effing difference between TTTC and the IF board?!  Isn't that the same thing?

Also why is there a SAIF and a PAIF board? Is the SAIF board for when you are actually done having kids, but you've dealt with IF in the past? Wtf is up with all these damn boards? I can understand a 2IF board because IFers are probably sensitive to people trying for a sibling, but TTTC vs IF?! Wtf is the difference?

Also, why can't you access PAIF on the board lists? Is it a magical board that only appears in the form of a grad check in? I've been on this site for 3 damn years, and I still can't figure this shit out.

Anything else?? Bueller? Bueller?

Re: Do you ever wonder?

  • I'm not even going to get into TTTC vs S&TTTC vs IF, I mean really? It's 3 boards for the same shit. Why do the snarky people have to be exiled to their own board? We all coexist here pretty happily.

I wonder all of this as well!  I've seen some explanations before in the past when I've searched for it but the distinctions between the boards obviously weren't profound enough to stick in my brain.

I see PAIF on the board list, but it's not in the right spot alphabetically.  There are a few that are out of order alphabetically and it drives me nuts.  Absolutely nuts.  That's why I have a shortcut to this board and bypass the other non-sense.

  • Um you know the teacher on Charlie Brown that goes "mwar, mwar, mwar, mwar"? That is all I hear I don't know what you guys are talking about :) what does tttc mean? I know ttc but no idea what the extra T is for?

    TTC: since 08/2012
IUI: met with clinic 01/13 - due to SA results - straight to IVF
IVF Cycle 1: Long Lupron Protocol with fresh transfer and ICSI
Baseline U/S 11/27/2013 - Lining 3mm and good to go go stim action!

  • Yesssssss. I wonder this about several boards. It's crazy. I feel like if more topics were consolidated into fewer boards, all the boards would be more active. And in turn, more people could talk about potatoes. Which is important.

  • @LuckyJuJu, the extra T is for "Trouble."  If you want to know what they mean by "trouble" though, you're going to have to ask them.  It sounds an awful lot like infertility to us...

  • I *think* TTTC is more about IF and IUIs, and the IF board is women dealing with IVF.

Two DDs 10/08 and 08/10, no primary IF
    TTC #3 since 10/2011 - dx unexplained/weak ovulation
     3 BFN clomid + TI cycles, 5 BFN clomid/gonal f IUIs, 1 mmc IUI
2/19/2014 IVF #1 Unexpected low E2 (oversuppressed) -> increased to max doses = 3 or 4 follicles, converting to IUI
BFFP Saw 1 beautiful heartbeat at 6w6d, follow up u/s at 9w showed mmc. Eff this.
    NTNP 5/2014-9/2014, OPKs and TI 10/2014 - 1/2015.
RPL testing all normal, AFC, AMH, and FSH all normal.
    IVF 1.2 1/22/2014 natural cycle start, AFC 28, 300 gonal f/150menopur.
ER 2/3/15 14R 8M 3F w/ICSI Day 5 transfer on 2/8/15 of one "Grade A+" blast and have TWO frosties!

Holy shit... I always wondered what the extra 'T' was for! I don't know the difference either.

  • I am cracking up that @LuckyJuJu said we remind her of the teachers on Charlie Brown. That is pretty much how I imagine all of society (TB) to view us.

All of us in here laughing over "Potato" and no one really knows why that shit is funny.

  • I concur with the confusion.

    Here is my take:
TTTC is for those without a dx for IF, trying more than a year and may or may not be doing treatment

IF is more for those with a dx of IF, doing IVF or other ART and have been trying for 1+ years

For both of those boards they discourage 2IF'ers even though they have tons of helpful experience that would help 2IFers especially if #1 was concieved naturally.

If I post there with a question I try to just use a huge siggy warning and keep it brief. I would like to post there more because I have knowledge and info they could use and I think you give and take from these boards but I don't want to get yelled at.

SAIF/PAIF, I don't really get those boards but I think that SAIF allows more talk about kids rather than pregnancy.

TTGP is helpful and yet it changes so much with the crew that posts there. If there are a lot of regs its more helpful than many newbs.

The potato is for all. Add it and go forth to share it with the rest of TB. It's up to us to spread more potato.

Laughed way to hard at this and when DH asked why I was laughing so hard I showed him and he asked me why we were talking about potatoes he thought we were talking about having babies, then I laughed harder, now he thinks I'm crazy
