WWYD next cycle question

Pretend money wasn't an issue. (I wish this was true. It isn't...)

But, if it were true and you had one lonely embryo frozen in time...would you:

1. do an sET of that one lonely guy     or

2. do a full fresh cycle to bank more and to have more to transfer both for the current and future cycles

DH and I are supposed to decide before our next RE appt in January. We just keep going back and forth. Ok. He keeps going back and forth. I'm pretty solid with doing another full cycle. Not sure how to convince DH. I will. Eventually. He always comes around. But, am I asking too much? Any support so I can show him I'm not nuts? I kinda feel nuts when he lays it all out...and by all, I mean the money part...But, what's money if you're not spending it, right? (I kid)

For me personally, I would only do a single transfer but than being said I would still want to do a fresh cycle to bank embryos but that is because of my age. Hopefully you can convince DH to go for the full cycle.

I would choose #2, but I knew I wanted more than one child and I knew we didn't make lots of embryos to worry about "extras." Best of luck to you in whatever you decide.

I would do another ivf bank those embryos and do an et with the frozen embryo.

I think if you want more children in the future, you might as well go for the fresh cycle. Also, I don't know your age, but if age is a factor, that would be more of a reason to do another fresh cycle. GL with whatever you decide!

Thanks ladies. I read these to DH. I'm 35, so I'm getting there. Clearly, with having a good amount of embryos, but only 4 make it to the end and then only one left at this point,  there is an egg quality issue that our RE is concerned about. That's why I want to do a full cycle again first rather than another frozen only. Our RE said we could put back the frozen and a fresh and I'm okay with that. Money can be saved, but we were just enjoying not having to spend every extra penny on fertility treatments for the time being. I think DH hearing from other ladies makes him realize that it's not just me being crazy. It's scary because this would be it. Like, absolutely it. Done-o. Scary.

Funny you should ask. My clinic called yesterday and asked me what my plan was for my single frozen embryo and if I wanted to start another cycle to bank. I said a firm no to cycling again. But that was purely a money decision. If it was free, I'd start again today.

I was I the exact same boat which is why we did a fresh cycle. It's day two after transfer and one fertilized so we are pushing to day five and if my lining is okay transferring my frostie too. Was doing this to bank more but that didn't work so well

I'm thinking of you and hoping your one is a superstar and is just developing just as it should be! Yeah. Honestly, this situation never crossed my mind. It is definitely something to consider when we're thinking of forking over another $10k+. With this new idea of an egg quality issue, it is certainly something that could happen. Oh my. What to do, what to do??? This whole thing just plain flat out sucks.
