TTC After a Loss

Holistic Approach ( loss mentioned )

Hi, I did my an intro a couple weeks ago. I suffered an ectopic pregnancy on 11-7-13 and my right tube was removed. On 11-27-13 a HSG showed my left tube a blockage. I decided I'm going to start a holistic approach to include acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal treatment, and healthy eating to try unblock my tube without surgery. If this does no work then my husband and I will try other methods such as IVF or surgery. I will be doing this under a licensed practitioner and I have ordered some great books. I am excited and will have first appointment on 1-6-14. The worst that could happen, I will lose some weight. Lol. I will never lose hope because miracles happen everyday.

  • Hi I think your plan sounds good - if you can't tell from my siggy I'm a believer in acupuncture. Find an acupuncturist that specializes in IF

    Good luck :)

  • Thank you. I will let you know how everything goes and follow up with you.
  • I'm glad you have a plan you're comfortable with. Please know that western medicine is western medicine for a reason - there is evidence that it works. Every therapy, medical or surgical, is used because there is evidence that it works. There is no evidence that any of the treatments you mentioned work for fertility. I'm not telling you don't do it, I just want your expectations to be reasonable. And I would recommend talking to your MD about your plan. First of all, so they're aware of any possible interactions (many herbal supplements interfere with the uptake and/or metabolism of medications) and so that he/she can weigh in on any potential risks (for example, if there is a risk to putting off surgical options).

I wish you the best, I really do, but there is no evidence that any of this helps. Also, like @ahenson818 said, you will probably get more of a response if you become a more active poster on other people's threads.
