Suddenly sleepy

Ironic that I am typing this after posting how my LO is awake a lot of the day....

but normally my 6 week LO is awake a decent amount during the day for an hour or sometimes 1 1/2 at a time. Two nights ago and yesterday he was cluster feeding every hour - hour and a half, but wasn't eating much. Then last night he ate a ton every 3 hours. Today he isn't feeding well again and seems really sleepy. He falls asleep when eating and goes right back to sleep. I took his rectal temp and it was 98.1, but he seems a little fussy and gassy. He is still having his normal wet and poopy diapers. Any ideas as to what might be going on? A growth spurt, or maybe he's sick?

I'm not sure, what would be causing it, but that is lie got a rectal temp, and is ruin it by the pediatrician.

What temp. are you keeping your house at?

Our thermostat says 70, but I'd say it feels more like 72. It hasn't changed since we've had him home though and he's usually awake. He did wake up for around 3 hours this afternoon though and ate better last feeding too.
