Has anyone bought a convertible car seat yet?

I went on the car seat for littles page and was rec to buy a graco size 4 me type seat but I went into BRU today to test it out and it felt like it was hard as rock. Has anyone had experience using this seat?  We are both fairly tall so I wanted one that will last but it was not as soft as the chicco next fit or the britax marathons. I was debating between all of these.  The Safety 1st one seemed nice too but Ive heard they are hard to install and you need like a pool noodle?!?!

Looking for any tips here. It is so overwhelming. I was hoping to buy one tom with cyber monday deals going on.

  • We have the evenflo symphony 65e3. It was a gift so we haven't installed it yet but heard good things about it.

  • All my car seats have been Britax and have lasted through all 3 kids.  Love our Boulevard :)

  • Our little (big) guy has been at the 99th percentile for height for a few months so we also looked at those same seats. We chose the Nextfit and really like it so far. We purchased it for $209 on sale. There are several places that have it on sale periodically so if you have your heart set on BRU they will do a price match.
  • The new Safety 1st Advance Air at Target doesn't need a pool noodle and is tall and soft. I have the Complete Air for our older DS and love it. The angle for over 22 lbs doesn't need a noodle and it was easy to install.

  • We bought the Maxi Cosi Pria 70 and so far love it. Too a little bit of effort to install it but DS loves it. Super cushy. My mom got the safety first one for her car, not quite as soft but he seems to really like it too.
  • I just bought a Britax Marathon on amazon. Haven't installed so no feedback. But they're on sale big time on amazon right now in case you're interested.

  • We just bought a Britax Roundabout at BRU on black friday.  She has only used it for 2 days, but so far its great.  It's nice and soft, she has fallen asleep in it and is super easy to install.

  • We have a maxi cosi pria 70 which is a pain to install but seems really comfy. It also has a lot more leg room than the Britax marathon. We 2 marathons which are really easy to install. I just bought a diono radian XRT today on sale for $239 (usually $339). I bought it because it is slimmer so you can fit 3 across, it has really high height limits so stay RFing longer, and it converts to a booster.

  • Our DS1 has a Britax Roundabout but as soon as DS2 is ready it will go to him and we will be getting DS1 a new, bigger seat. I would just read the safety ratings and go off that - Baby Bargains has good recommendations

We bought this one but had to return it because it's MASSIVE!!! My Dodge Caliber couldn't handle it. We got a Graco Headwise (also at Target)

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to Target to get one since they were sold out online. I am thinking about waiting and getting another Complete Air 65 when he hits 22 lbs since I know it will fit in my car.
