I have a scheduled c section this Tuesday December 3 and I am so excited to meet my baby girl but so nervous! I am a FTM and any advice would be helpful to get me through the day! :-)
Get up and walk. Get not just stool softener but gas meds too. My gas pain rivaled my c section pain. Try to take a shower everyday-- you will feel so much better.
I am sure it sounds crazy, but enjoy it! I was sooo nervous when I found out that I had to have a c section. But it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. It's normal to feel shaky, cold or hot, and not be able to feel yourself breathing. (Luckily, I didnt have the last one.) I told my husband to keep talking to me so I wasn't listening to what they were doing. Once the baby was born, I was too distracted by her to be nervous.
Afterwards, like others have said, get up as much as you can. Stay ahead of your medication.
Either stock up on the giant mesh undies from the hospital, or buy big granny panties! I did both and they are so much better than my regular undies. If you don't already, get some nightgowns. You won't want to wear pants for a while because they rub against your incision. For the times you need to wear pants, put a pad on the incision inside your undies. It makes a nice little cushion. I'm 3 weeks pp and I still don't like wearing pants. If I do, I wear them old man style, all the way up by my belly button.

Good luck tomorrow!
