Over Feeding Baby? STM question.

My LO is a week and 3 days old.  Shes been drinking about 2-2.5oz at every feeding (every 3 hours).  Lately I have noticed that she is getting hungrier before the 3 hours.. about 2 hours.. sometimes 1.5 hours... and she usually drinks another 2 oz.  Is this ok?  I would hate to be feeding her too much.

BF or FF? Babies, especially this young will self-regulate and spit up when they over eat.

Why do you have her on a feeding schedule? Feed on demand.

I don't really have her on a schedule.. she has just been showing her hunger cues around 3 hrs.. now it has gone down to 1.5-2.5 hours lately.  I have been feeding her when she show signs of hunger, but just didn't want to over feed her.  She has been having gas problems too.. seems like every time she eats she wakes up in pain an hour later.. I burp her a good 30-45 mins after each feeding and usually get 3 burps and some gas out of her during that time. We go to pediatrician tomorrow.. I will definitely have questions for her... Being a FTM.. I sometimes don't know whats right or wrong.. but learning each day.  Thanks for the replies.

Your worries are normal, but everyone is right you can't over feed your baby. She will regulate herself and if she eats too much she'll spit up. Babies also cluster feed around growth spurts which is good but can mean you always feel like your feeding or nursing. As for gas, some babies have difficulty in the begging remembering how to pass gas or poop. It looks really painful for them and is alarming to us but its okay- they're just trying to figure out how to relax enough to pass gas. Try the diet thing but usually what your eating wont make a huge difference and you can drive yourself nuts looking for the magic association. Sounds like overall your doing just what she needs
