Diaper Cream: Prevention: Beudreux's Butt Paste.  Treatment: A&D original ointment

Baby Carrier: Moby wrap or Ktan in the beginning.  Ergo for later on.

Splurge: Comfy glider or rocking recliner

Must have: Swaddle Me or similar, Happiest Baby on the Block DVD, Wubbanub Pacifier, White Noise Machine.

Other favorites: FP papasan swing, bouncy seat that actually BOUNCES, FP Rainforest jumperoo.

1. Stroller - Baby Jogger City Mini. I love this stroller. We have used it from birth; before DS could sit upright we used a JJ Cole body pillow (marketed for use in car seats, which is not safe, but perfect in the stroller). The Sunshine Kids parent console is great for drinks, keys, and a cell phone.

2. Car seat - We've used the Britax Marathon 70 since birth but next time I'll probably get the Chicco Nextfit. I like the Britax seat a lot and at less than 20th percentile for height DS will get a lot of use out of it, but I would not want to chance it with a second kiddo.

3. Highchair - Fisher Price Space Saver

4. Bottle - Just the basic Medela bottles.

5. Diaper bag - We use one very infrequently, but the Eddie Bauer bag my mom got us from Target works great, and it fits in the stroller basket.

6. Baby toiletries - Johnson & Johnson.

7. Diaper cream - CJ's BUTTer for prevention; Desitin for treatment.

8. Baby carrier - Only used the Moby. I liked it okay, but it was hot and difficult to put on, especially in a parking lot. I think next time I want a more structured carrier.

9. Splurge / not necessary baby gear - Sophie the Giraffe (I'd never buy one, but got one as a gift at a baby shower and DS liked it well enough), baby bathtub (still using it in our house, but def. not necessary)

10. Baby/nursery/new mom must have - rocking recliner in the nursery (oh the hours I've logged in it, nursing and reading stories and snuggling with my baby); Fisher Price My Little Snugabunny swing; My Brest Friend nursing pillow for the first couple of months.

11. Misc other favorites - Having DS prompted me to upgrade from my point and shoot camera to a DSLR and I am so glad I did. I am so much happier with the quality of the pictures I am getting in our house with bad light, and the pictures will of course last longer than anything else baby-related.

1. Stroller  We live in the Midwest and do a lot of driving.  Our stroller is mostly for malls, the zoo, walks around the block.  So we have a Graco Fast Action Fold and a BRU brand cheap umbrella.  I like them both. If I could spend more $ I would replace the Graco with something a bit taller (I'm tall) and perhaps air-filled tires to make a smoother ride on walks around the block.

10. Baby/nursery/new mom must have - Hands down, the best postpartum product: Earth Mama Angel Baby Mama Bottom Balm. It was a life saver for me!
11. Misc other favorite - Gap Maternity camis, they are soft and long with descent support. Perfect for the first few weeks PP, when your boobs are adjusting and you haven't bought your nursing bras yet!

1. Stroller - love my City Mini GT however still have stroller envy of Bob's 4 wheel version (cannot recall the name)

2. Car seat - Graco Snugride 35 (my Lo is still using it at almost a year because she is a light weight). Bought the Graco My Size 70/Headwise/something else, but have yet to install it because she still fits fine in the Snugride.

3. Highchair - have been using a 2nd hand Space Saver (not in love with it). Just bought a different one, more ofa booster that has a tray from Fischer Price, have yet to use but the straps are much thinner which didn't impress me.

4. Bottle - not applicable. Used premixed formula that comes in 2oz bottles, comes with a disposable ring and nipple. Rewashed those and the Dr Brown nipples can fit in the ring in a pinch.

5. Diaper bag- purse that is big enough to hold a few diapers, small thing of wipes, a couple of zip lock bags, change if clothes and water bottle plus wallet, cell & keys.

6. Baby toiletries - nothing we love so far

7. Diaper cream - anything with zinc oxide. Desitin no good because it causes more chapping when you wipe it off (and you have to when there are weird poops). We are using Bordeaux butt paste extra strength and sometimes Eucrin's ointment.

8. Baby carrier - something Sport (might be Ergo but may be wrong - didn't use it till around 4 months through now)

9. Splurge / not nessisary baby gear - shopping cart cover, breast pump wipes, seperatly purchased car seat accessories (i.e. strap covers & inserts) since they are not safe to use unless they specifically come with your car seat.

10. Baby/nursery/new mom must have - nursing tops in a few different styles since different things work at different points. Bathrobe, pj set that has tank top, jacket & pants. Also disposable changing pads (especially useful in the beginning when there is the meconium since that gets everywhere) since LOs have a tendency to pee mid change.

11. Misc other favorites - cellphone/kindle/Nexus7 with ereader software for easy reading while nursing or holding a sleeping baby. Also Hulu/Netflix and our Rouku because we had it in use 24/7 in the beginning when our sleep was so messed up.

oh, forgot to add, a few small wet/dry bags that fit pump parts. Have found that it works well to leave the pump at work, and just carry one set of parts (2 bottles, and 1 flange set up) back and forth in my lunch bag. Then again, I only pump 1x per day. Had been worried about noise of the pump but my coworker says my pump (Medela Freestyle) is far quieter than the one she had.

Also, the Puj tub was great when she was itty bitty! The plastic tubs all suck in my opinion. The Munchkin inflatable duck tub is super cheap and amazing for when they outgrow the Puj.
