12 month old walking on side of foot?

My DD has been walking for about a month now. She has bee doing really great and can balance really well. On Thanksgiving, she started not being as balanced and more wobbly and definitely more moody. Today she was walking around but crying and didn't seem very stable. I noticed her left foot was on its side and turned in. I straightened it but she continues to put it back. She also tries to do this with shoes on.

I plan to call the Dr tomorrow (they were closed today) but was wondering if anyone had any experience like this?

    Is it red? Maybe she banged it on something, bug/spider bite or getting an ingrown toe nail?

     No. I've checked it and I don't see anything. I'm thinking maybe she twisted it or stepped on it wrong?
