FFFC

Re: FFFC

  • Now that I have a family of my own... I totally judged everyone on my Facebook that went shopping yesterday.

I have 3 kids. MH stayed home and I went shopping with my sister, like every year.

Judge away because there is nothing wrong with it. I had thanksgiving with my family (3 houses actually), and shopped afterwards.

Ya I don't get this. I didn't know people with families couldn't go shopping... ? I just went shopping WITH my family...

Yea, that FFFC makes no sense. Please judge me. We shopped last night and were STILL shopping today. Fuck it.

Why having a family means you can't shop Black Friday? Yea...weird.

For real. I am at work, but when I get off this afternoon, my family of 3 is going shopping.

Yeh. I just wore my LO around the mall for hours. He had a great time. He got some great deals at H&M that *he* couldn't resist. Plus we were bonding.

  • That's why it's a flame worthy confession because there shouldn't be any correlation btw the two. I've always gone Black Friday shopping and have even been on Thursday. But for some reason I found myself judging my FB friends this morning. I really don't have a good reason... Hence... FC. Although... I do have to say...I didn't judge even close to as hard as this person...

This is an actual post that I just saw...my correlation btw shopping and family was a little off.. But this one is flat out ridiculous.

My DH and I bought a brand new bed that we totally can't afford early this week because it was crazy on sale. It gets here in a few hours and I'm stupid excited but also stressed about paying off another thing.

Our old bed is a piece of uncomfortable poo.
You will not regret it. we decided to shell out an obscene amount for a 'Heavenly Bed' like the ones they have at Westin hotels. We also splurged on insanely nice sheets and bedding. We spend a good portion of our lives asleep...why not be comfortable. My quality of sleep improved 1000 percent. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
Agreed.  Right now, we have a bed that DH has had since he was single, it's a Queen pillow top and we both hate it.  We want a King size bed, because we both move around in our sleep a lot and often wake each other up.  We love to cuddle, but we love our space as well.  After the holidays, we are planning on splurging to buy a bigger, nicer bed and I am SO excited.  Totally worth the money, in my opinion.

Um, what? Because she certainly knows the details of all of her Facebook friend's finances and tax situations...SMH.

  • This probably isn't a FFFC, but oh well.  I often feel guilty on days when I have a lot to do around the house, and I don't get as much time to play with LO.  On the days I'm not doing much, we have plenty of time to play, whether it's during tummy time, or on the play mat, or just me holding her and talking with her and playing with her.  Then there are other days when I have a lot of errands to run, and cleaning to do, and I don't get to play with LO as much.  Those days, she tends to sleep a lot, and I feel like she is sleeping only because she is bored, and then I feel like a bad parent.  Today, she woke up late, ate, and then took a nap on my chest.  I had to run to the grocery store, and she fell asleep in the car on the way there, and is still asleep an hour later.  When she wakes up, I feel like I should be playing with her, but my house is a mess, I need to make dinner, and I'd like to get the Christmas decorations up.  But I feel guilty doing all of those things because she has done nothing but sleep and eat today and I feel like she needs more stimulation than that.  I wear her often, but she always falls asleep in the carrier.

I guess my confession is that I still have a hard time trying to balance everything, and making sure that i'm spending enough time with LO, as well as getting everything done.

  • @kwrecks Does your baby like being worn? That's how I still feel connected when I'm running around cleaning, cooking or working from home.

I also talk to her all day, "Mommy is cleaning the table...Mommy is answering an email...Do you think we should have chicken or fish for dinner?" It makes me feel like a crazy person, but I like interacting with her even when I'm busy.

  • @LJUTCmommy that's what I was screaming... And shocked that 20 people liked it. Um...

It made me feel bad that I even judged my friends after reading her awful post.

  • @mommybolty- you've just got to love subliminal posts on FB. Who cares what other people are doing right? People are so worried about what others are doing that they forget to live their own lives. How'd you ignore that nonsense?

    Insane.

  • LO is going through her 12 week growth spurt and eating every hour. I am using that and the rainy weather s an excuse to stay in pajamas, order pizza, and snuggle all day. DH is at work and won't be home til Sunday morning so I don't even feel obligated to straighten up or do anything.

I have another since leaving the hospital LO hasn't been swaddle.

Our son hated swaddling for the most part. We tried to make it work but after a while we just gave up. When people say that all kids want to be swaddled, I just want to slap them. I think after being squished for the last four months of my pregnancy, DS was ready to stretch out .

I'm actually having a hard time ignoring the post. She had more likes and comments. People supporting this post. I'd really like to say something but I just can't start a FB war with someone that can be that ignorant.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one that had never used some sort of swaddle specific blanket. I've just always used a regular blanket. Because, up until lately, she hasn't had any trouble staying in her swaddle, I haven't seen the point of spending the money on some Velcro blanket when I have plenty of normal blankets to swaddle her in.

We never swaddled, period. With a blanket or otherwise.

Trying to think positive... Maybe she ment it as, because of her family she was on the boycot Black Friday boat due to the ppl who had to work because of others shopping bus? I totally went shopping but I kind of get why it bothers some. It sucks to have to work on thanksgiving. I've done it myself many time before. I try to hope that they vary the shifts so that everyone gets time at one point during the day to spend time with their families. Shop on ladies..... Shop on B-)
