BTDT: Zarbee's Cough Syrup

Have any of you tried Zarbee's cough syrup for your little ones? Poor Ezra has a cold and his little throat has to be raw from coughing. We went to the dr yesterday and they said it would just have to run its course, but I would love to get him a little relief if I could. It looks to basically be agave nectar

I used it when LO got a little hoarse from coughing when she was sick a few weeks ago. It seemed to give mild, temporary relief much like honey or a cough drop do for me. Often it was enough to get her some sleep which was what she needed the most. Her cough was dry and hoarse accompanied with a runny nose but no chest congestion.

Great thank you! He's having trouble sleeping, I'm hoping the combo of this, J&J vapor bath, vicks on his belly, back and feet and the humidifier will help.

I've used it with DD1 and keep a variety of their products stocked in the house.

Thanks for this post. LO has his first cold too and I am looking at some ideas that will let him rest peacefully. His cough isn't bad but his nose is so stuffy. (DH and I have this cold too so it's a wonderfully fun time here)

Humidifier & a mesh feeder with ice to chew on. Per my doc's advice no cough syrup or meds aside from Tylenol before age 6.

Really, if you want to give it a shot you can but I would be conservative in my dosage.

@PrimeRoseMama do you put crushed ice in the mesh feeder or an ice cube?

I think zarbees might have honey in it. Id check before giving it to your lo

Either one. Since DS has had a cold I do ice cubes of pedialyte. He prefers small cubes to bite on.

Straight up, a whole bottle of water-- no. But small cubes of ice is NBD. If you are concerned about water intoxication you can freeze breast milk into cubes or formula into cubes.

DS takes all of the above. The breast milk cubes are a huge hit.

BM ice cubes makes more sense to me than plain ice cubes.
