chicco keyfit carseat

My baby is now too big for the infant insert in the chicco keyfit carseat.  So I removed it.  Does anyone know if you need to remove the headrest also when they get to 11 lbs?  I looked in the user guide but it did not quite specify.  Thanks

I am pretty sure it is when you move the straps to the next setting.

I would leave it until the baby has halfway decent head control if it isn't specific in the owners manual. It's just there for extra support

You have to remove it when you move the straps up the top slot but besides that you can take it or keep it until you want to.  I still use it for my son because he's little.

We kept it in until we needed to move the straps up.
