I'm on both boards these days in my transition schedule time. Anyway, they had a thread about the Fitbit and now I'm thinking of asking for the FitBit One for Christmas. Do you have a Fitbit and do you like it and use it?
My husband's been using it for a week and is going to return it for the model that has a watch on it. Otherwise, he likes it. I don't really see what the advantage is over using a free fitness log and a cheapo pedometer though.
Supposedly it works much better than the "standard" pedometers, it can easily and comfortably be worn in your bra, it zeros out itself each day so you don't ever need to re-set it, and it syncs to your computer or some smart phones to store and track data. You can also track what you eat and stuff if you want to. It also measures sleep cycles, which I am sort of interested in b/c (total random side note) I sometimes wonder if I am a teeny bit narcoleptic or something. I have had problems with daytime sleepiness in meetings, driving, etc for years and have come to realize it's more extreme and more consistent over the years than what other people seem to experience.
I have the Fitbit flex. I do like it, but a couple of items of note...
1. The food tracking is terrible. There's almost nothing in their database. Ive heard it integrates with MyFitnessPal, but I haven't taken the time to figure out how.
2. The sleep tracking isn't great. Unless you're up moving around or really restless, it will think you're sleeping if you set it to sleep. One night, I set it to sleep and laid awake for 90 mins. It tracked me as asleep.
BUT, I love the step and mileage tracking feature, and the ability to sync it to my phone easily. For those reasons, I'd recommend it.
I have a fitbit flex too. I like it. I've never had a pedometer before so it's a total novelty for me. It syncs well with my phone and myfitnesspal. I can't get the sleep tracker to work. Even when I think I've set it to sleep, it doesn't track anything. Don't love that. It is also seriously not water resistant, even though it say it is.
I had a Fitbit One. I say "had" because I've lost it three different times. The first time, FB gave me a new one. The second time, someone turned it in and FB sent it back to me. I'm too embarrassed to call and ask them for a new one again. So while I can say great things about the customer service, if recommend getting a flex or force (both worn on the wrist) instead of the one.
i have the flex and so does hubs...we love it and others have purchased based on our recs too...i had a co-worker introduce me to it...now that the force is out, i am a little jealous as I started looking at mine as if it were a watch...i like the bracelet....i don't take it off (unless swimming) which was important for me as i get scatter brained in the morning trying to get out the door

I have a FitBit Zip (the cheap $40 or $50 one) and love it. It doesn't track sleep, but I have no interest in tracking that. I was using MyFitnessPal before I got the Zip, and it was very easy to integrate the Zip into my daily routine. I generally have it clipped to my bra strap, which is easy but a little irritating if I want to check my progress during the day and have to duck into the bathroom to do it (I don't have the right kind of phone to sync directly, and keep my syncing to my home computer).

It does work with MFP - actually syncs rather seemlessly with what I have seen so far (only been using it a week). I input my food and exercise into myfitnesspal. There are two different settings for sleep, and I have mine set the more sensitive one. I like this feature...but it was a rather sobering confirmation of how poor my sleep is.
