I didn't mention it earlier, because I wanted to keep it on the DL, away from lurking eyes, but a nurse called me from my clinic two weeks ago and basically tried to "fire" me from cycling with this clinic. The main reason was that we ask too many questions, and that makes them feel like I don't trust their medical judgment. This call came absolutely out of the blue to me. I was flabbergasted and in shock. I was crying and tracked down my DH to bring him in on the conversation. The nurse who called me was allegedly a "patient advocate" but the only advocating she did was for the clinic. She brought another nurse who had been working with us on the line. I was upset and in tears as we went back and forth on how this all came about. We were definitely on the phone for over an hour. At the end of the call, I said that while I had previously had no doubts about their medical care, as a result of that phone call, I then did. I asked for a couple days to talk with my DH about the situation to decide if we can trust them to continue, or would we just constantly worrying that at any second they would refuse to continue treatment. We decided that since we have already done our research, have already invested THOUSANDS of dollars into this clinic, and have already established a set plan for our cycle, that we would cautiously continue. Well guess what? I am just sitting here opening the mail, and I just received a $200 bill from them for the nurse's time on the phone! You have got to be f'ing kidding me. *I* didn't call them! *I* didn't request that horrifying phone call! And at no point whatsoever were we ever told that we were being billed for being on the phone, responding to their allegations! I am shaking from being so upset right now. This is a HUGE WTF moment! We have no idea how to proceed from here. We are both sick over this. It's like the day of the phone call all over again.

Oh my gosh. I am fuming with you. That would make me feel so angry!!! 

Is there any way you could write a letter to the doctor him/herself about the position you are in? Or even a nurse manager? I have had to deal with some horrible people at my clinic (nothing like that, though) and I finally got fed up and told my RE about it. She fixed the situation immediately. I know it's a long shot, but I think the doctors themselves have a bigger stake in their clinic doing well so they care more to get it resolved.

I think I'd scratch "screw you" onto the invoice and mail it back.....but that's just little old passive aggressive me, LOL. On second thought, that's not very p.a. its pretty direct. Yup, that's my advice , do that

I can't even believe they are doing this. How can they charge when they called you?! And to say that that person was a patient advocate is really unbelievable. I also found the communication at CCRM to be very challenging, but my experience was no where near this bad. I'm so sorry you are going through this.

O.m.g. That is completely unreal. I don't know what to say. I think they are too big for their britches and can bully whomever they want. This is incredible and, to me, says a lot about who they are. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I wouldn't even know how to advise you on this. I'm at a loss.

Wow, just wow! I can't believe they charged you $200 to speak with the nurse! You will be paying a lot of money to cycle there and should have all your questions answered satisfactorily. I'm so sorry you are having such a bad experience.

I can't believe this! How horrible! I'd be demanding to see the re and there's no way I'd pay that bill! So sorry you have to deal w that

This makes me so mad. First of all, I'm so sorry that they are putting you through all this unnecessary stress at a time when you need to be as relaxed as possible. Don't EVER be afraid to ask questions.....you are paying them to answer as many freaking questions as you have. We need to be our own advocates! Knowledge is everything in my opinion and they are punishing you for being invested in your own care. I would rip that bill into a million pieces! This would have pushed me over the edge

I am so sorry this happened to you this exact thing happened to me at another high profile clinic last year and I called the practice manager. That is exactly what I would do in this situation. But also after that happened I realized the reason I was asking so many questions was because I really didn't trust them or want to cycle there. In your case I don't think trusting that they will do a good job is an issue.

WTF?!?!?!?! You are not allowed to participate in your care? What fucking century is this? I would make copies of invoice and write on each one - GO FUCK YOURSELF! and send it to everyone you can find there! And the fact that they had the nerve to bill you was unreal. Holy Shit - I want to go punch them in the face for you.
