High early E2 / microdose lupron protocol?

I'm on the microdose lupron protocol. Today, my day 4 E2 is 800. This seems crazy high. I'm on 20 units of lupron and 200 of follistim. They told me to only do 150 of follistim and keep doing the lupron 2x a day. My nurse said the high e2 could be from the "flare" part of the microdose protocol. Does that sound right? The 800 number just has me worried..on IVF #1, on day 4 my E2 was 300, and I triggered around 1700 last time, but this time I'm only on day 4... No ultrasound until Friday, day 7 of stims, ugh!! It could be. I don't want to scare you because it can mean a few things but I had a similar experience with a crazy E2 number so early on. On day 3, my E2 was 842 and my nurse was excited and thought I was responding well but my RE asked me to come in the next morning for monitoring. Turns out, 3 of the follicles were almost mature and I had a bunch of smaller ones but they didn't think they would catch up so they ordered more blood work. By 4, I got the call that my E2 had skyrocketed and they converted me to an IUI. I had just responded too quickly so they adjusted my protocol the next time around and took out the "flare" and I responded much more slowly. I was on a much higher dose of Follistim on both protocols though.

I would ask if you can come in tomorrow for monitoring to confirm it is due to the "flare" and they can potentially correct anything if God forbid, anything is screwy. Are you at least getting blood work tomorrow?

I hope you have the opposite of my experience and have tons of small follies but I just wanted to let you know my experience so maybe you can request monitoring sooner than Day 7.

Thanks for replying with this info! I just called and begged to come in tomorrow instead of waiting three days for Friday... And they agreed! So I should know more in the morning.

Great! I am sure it's all good but I am glad they will see you early just in case they need to adjust further. I am mobile so can't see your siggy but I am DOR and apparently that is part of the way I responded that way.
Again, didn't mean to scare you as I am sure my story isn't what you wanted to hear but Friday seemed a long ways away to make sure it was due to the flare so I had to share!

I was glad you replied! I'm not DOR but had a poor response to last IVF - only 4 mature eggs. Well today, after 4 days of stims, I had 8 measurable (over 10.. Most were around 11 or 12) and over 40 follicles around 10 or under. So all is well! I'm really glad I went in today just for peace of mind...
