Laptop/v-tech type recommendation?

I'd like to get LO (just turned 18months) his own laptop type thing. There's so many choices out there.  Anyone have one they recommend?  He loves pounding away on our real lap top so I think I'd like something that kind of mimics the real thing.  Or maybe not. I don't know!

My mom got DD that for Christmas, but she's not played with one before so, I am no help!  >-

DD is getting one from DH parents for Christmas. I'm interested to see how much she plays with that instead of my real one.

I HIGHLY recommend putting it near your real ones and not in the toy box or with lo toys. If they think it's a toy they won't like it as much, the whole if it's a grown up thing they want it but if it's a toy not so much. I could be wrong but three kids and 9.5 years of motherhood has always proven this to be true for every kid I know.

DS1 has the older model. He and DS2 both love it!

DD just got both the VTech tablet and LeapFrog laptop as early Xmas gifts. The VTech one seems too advanced and she didn't have much interest because she couldn't figure out how to do much with it. I'm packing that up for a few months. The LeapFrog laptop seems easier for her to use right now.
